The only thing is, wouldn't any manager read the back pages?
And said american kid has appeared in the enwspapers in the past, due to his big deal with rich sportswear giants.
If we want to sign a fat geordie legend, fast approaching retirement, his third kebab and seventeenth beer of the night, do we also have to "find" him, or is a basic knowledge of footballers allowed?

Yes they would. But here in England a lower league manager woud read about (a) the headlines from the Premiership from the national papers or (b) how rival team X from the Screwfix League lost to Dairy Farmers XI in the local cup. They wouldn't hear about 13 year-olds from all around the world, would they?

And if he is so good, why would a lower league team be able to sign him over a team several leagues higher?

Its all down to realism. Yes, lower league managers would know about famous fat ex-Newcastle/Tottenham/etc etc players, but would they be able to sign them, especially when that same player has spurned advances this season from teams in leagues higher than the conference? Maybe they'll have a chance when he's pushing 40...

no you guys are immature people taking it out on a 12 year old who made a mistake

Do you know what ****es me off? When people play on their age. I was watching pop idol the other week to watch people cry mainly. Anyway, there was this 16 year old on it and she was turned down. She said "Oh, please, i am 16".
As if her age has anything to do with her singing being crap. And it is the same with you. "I am 12 and i made a mistake", therefore you should be picked up, cuddled and told everything is ok and you didn't mean it?
I don't think so. Stop playing on your age to get you out of shtuck.
