I enjoy CM4 because I keep jumping to clubs in administration and can only sign players on a free tranfer

Are you sure you didn't take them into administration following their relegation after a season or two of your management

Definitley your Harddrive.

Thats a major factor in save time, with my old PC , it took about 30seconds
with my laptop , it took a min to 2 mins, mainly due to Hard disk differences,

That's your bottle neck when saving/

I don't think that HDD has enything to do with it, since it runs superb with other HD problematic applications.

What's the spec of your HDD?

Is it UDMA 133? 7200RPM etc? Is your Motherboard UDMA 133 compliant? DO you have the UDMA serial cable?

Welcome back, comrade.

I haven't played CM for months, but I'm ready to start up a new LLM career game (10+ seasons hopefully), several leagues running. My dilemma: do I start one up on CM 01/02, or do I wait for CM 03/04? I didn't buy CM4, but am wondering what LLMers think of it after EP5. Better or worse than 01/02 for LLM? (I thought 01/02 was, and still is, fantastic.)

I say that you should wait for CM 03/04, and see how you like that. There is only around a mont and a bit to go.

quote:
My biggest worry about CM4 was it seemed so slow, memory-hungry and detailed that the long career game with lots of leagues selected no longer looked possible or fun. Are my fears justified?

The slowness of the game is the only qualm I have with CM 4 (after EP 5). Your fears could be well justified, especially if you have anything less than 256 MB RAM (I have 128!).
