IMO the best way to pick a team is first to pick a country by tossing a coin a few times and then looking at all the LL sides and picking the best colour plus best team name plus best city name. if you love the name and the colors, no matter what the financial status or how crap the footballers are, it is enjoyable to play.

Just do it how must real life llm do it. Get absolutely ratassed, stagger home and sign some contract not knowing what it is or in your case clicking any team that doesnt make your head spin.

If its your first attempt then don't go for the ridiculously hard teams like San Marino and such. Just any team who can actually afford to make it to games on there lil minibuses without going into debt would be a decent choice.

The random team generator is fairly good though. Randomness is always the best way but you could just pick a nation that you know absolutely nothing about and then any team in there.

it doesnt matter who you pick really because most people dont fair too well at thier first attempt anyway so dont get disheartened if you dont do well first time round. Perserverance is the key.
