I take a deep breath as I question a rule of LLM - namely the 'Find' button!!

I had a semi-decent cup victory with my Sligo Rovers team in the Republic of Irelend, so I went to the Board Confidence screen to see if their opinion of me had improved. I got a message along the lines of the following:

"The Sligo Rovers Board of Directors are very pleased with your performance as manager.

The Board believe [A N Other] would be a useful addition to the team."

I've never heard of [A N Other], and to my surprise his name on the Board Confidence screen wasn't clickable on. The only way I could find out about [A N Other] was by looking for him with the 'Find' button. It wasn't a surpride that I've never heard of him as he is a modest Spaniard plying his trade in his native country. I've no idea how my Chairman got to know about him!

Was this use of the 'Find' button a justifiable exception or still a no-no?

Your chairman must have met this guy on his holiday trip to Gran Canaria or something.

Your Chairman has recommended a player, something they do much more often in RL than the game. I can't see a problem with that if after the recommendation you sent a scout to give him the once over before signing.

If you're using SWYCT then this doesn't become an issue, anyway.

I've only had the message for players I've sold or released, therefore the board know about these players. Maybe he used to play for your club before you were there?

On a slight tangent, I can remember people before saying using Find was acceptable if you're looking for a player you've already had at your club, but you can always find these ex-players by looking at the Transfers In screen and scrolling back.

I'd suggest SWYCT doesn't come into play here. In fact, I would feel obligated to send a scout to check him out, no matter where he is playing (leaving a scout without an assignment for a while should do the trick here).

Had this before. There's nothing else that you can do really. If he's cheap buy him, otherwise you'll get told about him every month which gets really annoying.

Don't EVER buy that chap your chairman is suggesting you. He'll end up demanding from you to play him. You'll finally either get the sack for ignoring his wishes, or get the sack for playing shÃ*te with that guy.
