What I find quite annoying about the atributes/CA/PA-thing is that it seems like your scouts/coaches presents reports only with regards on their hidden ability.

I feel that if a player can present a 8,2 average in Premier League he should be presentet as a good or quality signing, even if his current or potential abillity is low. The same applies for ones own players, as a player with the same average rating still can be reported as a player you should "look to offload immediately". Of course you don't want to offload the player who performs best in your team, but still I have recieved those reports...

There should not be such a thing as "maximum ability" as a player might grow both as a person and a player depending on which club he's at or what kind of confidence he recieves from his manager.

Attributes, I couldn't give a damn about CA - I was playing a game once and had brought a few young players through, then I got Genie Scout and looked up the kids, turned out they had a fairly low CA in comparison to their team-mates and it ruined the game for me as I was more reluctant to pick them.

Can anyone guess what this wonderkid's current ability is?

As it turns out, it's "only" 143. Sure, Off the ball and Composure could be better but as he's only 17, I don't complain as he will inevitably develop further. But he walks into my first team without even trying, although he has a stupid one-on-one miss rate sometimes.

Yea, better dont use any 3rd party program to scout the CA/PA of the players as it takes away the fun of the game.

First of all, wow.. If thos recent games are for your team, he has had more "10's" alone than all players (both mine and AI) have had in my whole game.

When it comes to missing one-on-ones you shouldn't pay much attention to that, as it applies for every striker in the game..

They are pre-season friendlies against, er, Abingdon United. The strategy I use on that game is "Route One with 3 strikers" so the most important players on the field are the strikers - and what better way than to get their form up than against comparatively worse teams?

Well, I think it would be interesting to take a CA 200 player with 1's in all stats and a 1 CA player with 20's in all stats (except the bad ones ofc) and see who does better.

I'm currently doing an experiment posted over on the challenges forum. The thread is named after my team, The Glue-Sniffing Gangster Monkeys

I created a squad of 24 lads who begin on their 17th birthday. They have 200 CA/PA. In short, the AI adjusts their attributes so they don't have all 20s from the off. Into the fray I put some variables, eg one player with 1 loyalty, one with 20 controversy etc. The ongoing results are in my thread.
