im playing as liverpool and early in the first season my players look very tired, im doing nothing out of the ordinary, my training is at medium and have even lowered it down. am i doing some wrong? im not even playing very fast football either, i usually might up the pase during the match alright.

any ideas?

Did you give them specific pre-season training? If not it is worth doing this and concentrating on strength and aerobic for the first 3 weeks, then reverting to skills training. If condition is falling too much in game, then you need to look at your tempo, closing down, forward runs, run with ball settings.

Have you played enough friendlies. When players play their first games after a long break they lack match practise and they get tired much quicker.

I use a TUG training that I modified a little.

I play about 10 to 12 friendly games in the summer time. I'll got to the matches with 22 players and let all of them play only for 45 minutes.

Between my last friendly and my first official I make sure there’s a gap of 7 days.

ALL my players are match-ready

Their first peak is between November & December.

If I have room on my calendar, depending the country & league, I’ll do some extra friendly matches in the winter time. I’ll use the same 45 minutes-for-all system.

The second peak will be between March & April.
