Good teams have good facilities and produce average to good youth.
However these clubs will not eat the drop in performance by using the youth and will almost for sure fire you.
And low league clubs have awful facilities and produce crap youth.
Probably you’ll relegate immediately which will end your career at the club as well…
Also, you have to wait 2, 3 or even 4 yours before you have enough players to fulfil a descent squad size…

on fm07 i played about 15 seasons as arsenal buying no players just bringing up youth and still managed success but the facatilies are already in place where youth development is concerned if you started with a lower team with no youth development in place (of arsenals standard) it would be a challenge but if it came off it could be the most rewarding save you ever had probs
I read a challenge with dafuge's challenge rules and buying no players. It said hat a manager achieved to get up to L2
In my games I'm playing only with welsh players and 80% of them came from my academy, finished 3rd in EPL a couple of seasons ago. But those 20% bought make the difference, half of my starting eleven came outside my academy.
The fact is that I believe I could have achieved at least L1 without buying any player. My youngsters have been amazing even with low academy level, specially first time youngsters. I picked team on 20th of june of 2008, and new youngsters were already in the team. From these pack, a couple have played in the national team, even one of them has EPL level!!!
Next game I will pick Merthyr again but that time without signings or loans (loans were key for me first seasons, since team had 1 real player and first regens).
I want to win EPL and an European trophy before ending game (finished 3rd in league and won FA cup and runner-up by now) and wait until 8.02 patch is out :p I will tell you if I can success with own players and no cheats.
