I know that there's been thousands of these kinds of threads in here, but how many people on here agree with me that FM 2008 is too difficult to play? I stopped playing FM 2008 about a month ago because I got tired of starting games and getting my butt handed
to me by the AI. I've gone back to FM 2007 until the 8.0.2 patch comes out and I hear some positive opinions about the patch. Do some of you guys on here agree with me?
I agree when it comes to taking a team out of the Northern Premier League Div 1 South, and put them into the Conference North and trying to survive...
I also agree when it comes to grey teams. My God they give me about a 3-0 toweling everytime I play them. Just like the time I played my 18's. They were all grey and I lost to them 3-1 in a friendly...
nope, its the most enjoyable game of the series so far imo. its the only one i've really been able to get my teeth into and get some decent long term games going. currently in 2014 with liverpool, challenging for 4th successive prem title, and 6th since i took over. just takes a bit of patience setting everything up right tbh. i quite often spend 1 1/2 - 2 hours on a new game before i get anywhere near playing my first match!
This type of thread will polarise opinion because for everyone who says it is too difficult, there is one who says it is too easy. If you are prepared to work at your formation and tactics then I personally do not think it is too difficult- it is a challenge but that is what many players want. If you want to win the CL with Sheff Utd ( for example only )in season 2 using default tactics and training then this is not the game for you.

i may be wrong, but i think this was mentioned as a bug, and SI are working on it...

Realistic!?
Conference N into Conference is just the same!
Real difficult.
0-8
0-7
0-3
1-3
MASSIVE step up.
But you work at it. I'd never quit playing FM just because it got a bit tough. I don't think I've ever played the game so much, and I've been a regular since CM2.
My current game was started in November. Still going strong

Oh goodo. I might be able to win a pre season friendly when I'm playing greys.
I've had loads of false starts in FM08 and kept returning to FM07, but I think I have finally got into an FM08 game now in the Blue Square North. I moved Whitley Bay there from whatever lower division they were in and they only had ~5 players plus those who come through the youth system first summer so it has been a challenge and I almost gave up, but I've really enjoyed it recently.
My loan signings have made the difference which is not necessarily a positive point - maybe they are unrealistic, I haven't really checked who is on-loan in the real Blue Square North. They are all from local teams and most were actually recommended by my scout, but still, one has 20 goals in 11 games!
Looks like we'll finish ~12th first season in the BSN so it is something to build on...the only downside being that it's a bit strange when you know that our recent brilliant form (we had slid down the table until I got my loan signings firing, after which we have been in seering home form and midly iffy away form) is down to the loanees who will not be with us next season unless I can re-sign them so we may well be back to where we were at the start of this season, but with expectations all the higher...time will tell though!
