I hope that this is in the correct place. I have downloaded dforlans 2d players. Before I can install them I have to make a back up of sme files.
Please can one of you "mod's" or someone as pc literate as them tell me what I have to do?
I am not pc literate at all and need any assistance in very simple terms. Kindest of regards to all, as usual.
Easiest way to backup the orignal files is to copy the folder (right click on it and select copy).
Then Browse to somewhere else on your computer and paste the folder there.
Simplest way is to create a folder in your My Documents folder called Football Manager Backup, then paste the orginal kits folder into your new folder.
Orignal player icons are in this folder:
\Football Manager 2006\data\graphics\pitch\icons
You want to back up (create a copy) of the kits folder.
(Or you can just create a copy of the kits folder in the same folder as it already and give it a different name - the game shouldn't pick it up, if you want it back just rename back to kits).
To get your backup back into the game, delete the folder you downloaded and copy the orignal folder back to its orignal location.
Many thanks for your prompt offer of assistance. I tried to do what you said but I managed to make a "foxes paw" (sic) out of your clear and precise instructions.
after going back to the game, after making a mess of it all, I got an array out of bounds message. This happened when I tried to change skins.
I then noticed that some of the rotated logo's that I downloaded went back to the original logo's.
I have now uninstalled all of the logo's and kits and skins and re-installed the game. I hope that this will now cure the ****- ups that I have made.
It has taken me all of 3-4 hours to do it all. The phrase "a little knowledge....." come to mind. Kindest of regards to all.
