Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default The 5-5-0 challenge

Someone on another forum said it was impossible to score with this formation. So I took it as a challenge and played two games with it, my first being a 1-1 draw (disporving him), but my second being a 1-0 defeat to Dortmund (away).

Final Score:

Formation:

[URL=http://img470.imageshack.us/my.php?image=550formationnd2.png]</A>

It's basically playing with 5 sweepers and 5 defenders. I know it may not be a topic highlighting how to use OI or Team-Talks, but nevertheless, if someone can succeed with this, it does show that with the right tactics, any formation can work.

So here's the challenge - it's nothing major, like winning a cup. The challenge is just to see if you can win a match with this (in normal 90 mins - no loopholes with penalties or any possible golden/silver goal competitions), and the more goals you score, against a higher class opposition, the better. You must play a defence of 5 sweepers and 5 defenders and cannot alternate during the match at any time. I know there are some experts here, so they may find this interesting to have a quick go at.

It might work if you could get 5 players who actually were sweepers.

This is prob the closest anyone could come to "A Team of Carraghers" from the Liverpool song
