Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Does Training Affect more then Attributes?

I am curious to know if training can effect ctual gameplay not just attributes. Like If I training my squad heavily on set pieces we will actually start scoring a lot more from setplays because we practise them so much.

Another example is if I train my midfield in shooting heavily will they then because they have been practising shooting and finishing start taking the half chances and hitting the net.

If I work on tactics in training heavily will this make my squad learn my style of play a lot quicker.

I know I havn't explained it well but I hope you get the rift of what I'm saying.

Yeah it does affect other things !! Such as the morale of the team, the condition of your team and yes increasing your set plays may help you score more !

i guess training to increase attributes works better for players under the age of 24. players beyond that, it principally just to maintain the attributes so that they don't drop severely, not till after 33 or so though. the age bracket when players' attributes drop severely, you can find it in the hints pop-ups when game is processing. either way go to "CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\data\hints\all\english\hints.xml" to read it all at once.

Training also affects your team's general fitness. I know, duh? But playing around with it in this version it's a bit more complicated. I found if you don't back off the initial training enough, by December your guys will be much slower in recovering from games. You really need to drop overall training down a couple notches between Aug and Dec, it makes a huge difference. I also am firmly of the belief over or under training both lead to more injuries. It's taken me four seasons with my Celtic dynasty to have found the right training balance.

I don't believe it does no. It just effect morale and stats imo and nothing else.
