This tactical system was made in Watford. The concept of this tactic was to made a team with a solid defence, and who could work all the time, and make enough pressure to recover the ball to make quick and deadly counters.
I made 5 formations. 2 to play v.s. teams that uses 2 strikers, other 2 to play v.s. teams who use one striker, and an offensive one, to recover the result when it's necessary. So it's quite necessary for you to pay atention if the A.I. change the tactic from 442 to 4141 or 433, and adapt imediatly. Another of the basic concepts of this tactic was also the quick adaptation to oponent tactical changes.
The diferences between those systems are the offball movements and also the man marking instructions.
It's a very defensive tactic, that play's a direct style, with fast tempo. The team will make a high pressure, and the wide will be short, so the team can behave like a block.
Set pieces:
In corners, there's the usual near post flick, where you should get some goals.
In throw ins, some center backs will go up the field and go to the first post waiting for the long throw, which will cause the oponent major dificulties, and will give you some out of nothing goals in throw ins.
But basically, it's a 0-0 or 1-0 or 2-1 tactic, you wont win by much, but you'll win a lot of points with smaller clubs.
I reached a 4th place with Watford in the 2st season with few signings(I had a couple of bucks to spend, but no decent players interested to play in Watford, and thoe who were, always prefered to go to other clubs)
Now in the second season, I have a better squad(qualifying in a UCL spot helped), and I'm doing better. Had my 1st defeat only on February.
Don't expect to dominate the games, this is a more counter attack and passive tactic.
Now screenies:
5-4-1 vs 1 striker teams:
5-4-1 vs 2 strikers teams:
5-4-1 vs 2 strikes ofensive:
5-4-1 vs 1 striker ofensive:
5-4-1 Defensive(I know it says 2 tk def, but it's the defensive version, when the oponent puts the 4-2-4 mode on mostly)
Now the stats:
Now some specifications:
DR and DL-> must have good marking, tackling, and fast. Good crossing is also handy. Finishing is optional, but if you put a side back who can also finish, you wont regret.
DC (the left nad right) -> Marking and tackoling. Positioning, concentration, and need to be a little fast, but dont necessary need to be a speedy gonzalez.the center back on the left will flick on the near post, but you can tweak that.
the middle center back -> This guy is gonna act like a sweeper, marking is a bit optional, but the tackling and composure/concentration must be good.
DM C -> usual stuff, but use one who can make good passes.
RM and LM -> use some guys who have some skill, and some finishing. crossing, dribling, midle shooting, and speed stuff are also very handy.
CM -> use a creative guy here, with a good passing and a decent middle shooting rate.
CF -> Can be anyone. No need to be pacey or tall, just need to be in the right place. For example, Marlon King or Vieri(Yeah, the 34 year old italian guy) do both good for me. But a striker with a bit of skill and first touch would be handy too.
Well, give me some feedback if you try it (good or bad

).
Have some nice games
Keep going FM'ers
