It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Hey Cleon,

Just have to say thanks for showing me your way of thinking when it comes to training it has really made me understand it more.
One small question I do have to ask is, earlier in the post you said a 'Lighter workload in certain areas probably wouldn't be enough to sustain stats'.. So i was wondering as i have just taken charge at Liverpool what to do with Xabi Alonso?? Reason i ask is that he is such an important player with great all-round stats. But i want to put him in the Midfield regime you have created instead of Defenders as i dont want his Creative side of his game to suffer!
But the only problem i have with the Midfield regime is you have low workrate on the Defending part as Xabi have great tackling etc and dont want those stats to decrease, which is like you said lighter workload probably wouldn't be enough to sustain stats.

So what would you do in this case Cleon. Sorry to ask a stupid question

Must be tiresome to be Cleon as everybody asks questions that he's already answered..

He stated he keeps the youth players on default schedules until they're 17, then he switches them to these schedules.. it's in one of the very first posts.

Wait. They sign pro contract only at 18 and can't be set to a different regime other than the youth one before that? Maybe its different around the world. That's how its in France.

Doesn't matter anyway. These are good regimes, gave me a another perspective into training aswell, am an admirer now.

As to youth coaches, for these youth regimes (that you don't touch) as youth coach with good "working with youngsters" stat and perhaps a good "technical coaching" stat would be good? So the first team coaches don't have to deal with the kids that are all below 18.

As soon as they hit 18, they're on pro contracts or released anyway </BLOCKQUOTE>
You have to promote them to the reserve team in order to allow them to use the Senior training routines

Cleon, your schedules are quite similar to mine (Except I have separate schedules for attacking and defensive midfielders for example), but I was wondering what the rationale between such high Strength training for your goalkeepers? I personally have much lower Strength, but higher Tactics. Because while Strength is useful, Natural Fitness and Stamina surely are a lot less important for a goalkeeper than Anticipation, Command of Area, Communication, Decisions, Positioning and Rushing Out? Now obviously high medium could be enough there, but even so; is there any specific reason for this?

Oh yeah, still with regards to goalkeepers; I know the "Attributes" screen doesn't mention it, but doesn't "Defending" improve Concentration for goalkeepers as well? At least it seems that way to me, and surely that's also a useful attribute?

High medium is more than enough for them to improve. I don't like to overtrain, and my keepers already have highest stats for this area. So light would be good enough to maintain the stats if I wanted to drop it even less. But on the medium settings my youth players are improving incredibly.

I like my keepers to be strong, if not when they come for crosses etc they can get out muscled, hence why heavy on the strength side.
