I just purchased a new defender for a whopping 20.5 mil, his a regen in 2015, anyway his marking is 10 and tackling is 14 so it probably makes sence to put him in my defender training category, but with excellent corner taking, free kicks etc, im also debating just leaving him in general training!!what do you think??Thanks
Look...
What I like about training in FM is that it doesn't make your players actually lose points... it has a 5 stats range... Meaning you could always try one thing, and if you don't like it then try another thing... No permanent effects... It's all dynamic when it comes to training...
As oppose to what people thought, last year's "Cheat Training" didn't help players reach their PA sooner, it just made all their abilities better by 2 points.
Players develop naturally.. Especially by giving them first team experience... So basically, experience = better overall player.
So I'd suggest you work hard on defending with the kid, since you usually want to have defenders heading the ball in corners and free kicks rather than taking them... And it would be a much more important job for a defender to actually know how to defend rather than take corners etc... Your midfielders can usually do that, as they are usually crap at heading/jumping.
Yes, but don't forget that if he is too young (or never gotten this much first appearances) it may be better to put him as a substitute and give him 10-30 minutes per game until he really proves he can handle matches... Move on to letting him play in matches that aren't that extremely important (say small league matches) and then maybe give him some time in the big matches...
In short, don't throw it on him as it may hurt his development. Do it gradually.
