Default Crazy's 4-2-2-2 (with tactics for wet matches too!)

I've been tweaking this for sometime now to make sure i've got a solid tactic, which seems to be the result. This can be used for big teams and for lower league teams because it worked very well on my Man Utd game and also when I was in early testing on my Wycombe game.

It proved more than competent in both the goalscoring and defending sides, with rates on my Man Utd game of:
goalscoring of 2.4 goals/game
conceding 0.7 goals/game

and on my Wycombe game (although not quite as impressive):
goalscoring of 1.8 goals/game
conceding 0.9 goals/game

I've created 4 tactics that I've been using. The home tactic is a short passing and slow tempo tactic, whereas the passing is more direct and tempo is quicker to utilise a counter attacking system as the main difference in my away tactic.

As well as just a normal home and away tactic, I've made home and away tactics for playing in a wet match. The main difference to the normal tactics is that the passing and tempo has been raised (as an in game hint says wet surfaces are better played on with more direct passing i.e. quicker tempo too). Don't use the 'wet' versions if it's just a wet match, but use them in any match where the pitch is obviously heavier i.e. a darker green, because i've had wet matches but the pitch isn't too different and the normal tactic has been more effective.

Please visit http://www.fmdownloads.net/index.php? to give my tactics a try and hopefully they'll work for you just as effectively. Look for my name (crazy gra) in the right column and the 4 tactics should be next to one another.

Feedback on this would be great, thanks

I've had unbridled joy since using these tactics. The home one in particular works a treat, don't believe I've lost a home match yet. The away one also functions reasonably successfully, we usually manage to scrape a single goal win, or if we concede, I usually turn to the home tactic.

I won the championship and league cup but lost both the FA and European Cup finals in my first season, though this was mostly down to an injury crisis.

I've not found much difference with the wet tactics... though I'll continue to monitor the situation.

I did tweak the away tactic slightly in that my full backs don't make forward runs and are generally defensive, but I may experiment without this again to see if it improves goal scoring away...

Many thanks Crazy Gra... I will now re-embark on my season of revenge!

ok, since finalising my tactics, this is what i got from my home and away games:

home games
played: 8
won: 6
drew: 0
lost: 2
scored: 17
conceded: 5
clean sheets: 6
biggest win: 6-0 v porto
biggest league win: 3-0 v charlton

the 2 losses were to wigan in the league cup (3-1) when i played a 2nd team and the other was to chelsea in the league (2-1).

away games
played: 6
won: 5
drew: 1
lost: 0
scored: 19
conceded: 6
clean sheets: 2
biggest win: 4-0 v shaktar
biggest league win: 4-1 v blackburn, 3-0 v man city

the draw was 2-2 v bolton, although IIRR i was testing tempo in that game i.e. had it at a usual setting (15, although it's not 15 now) for one half then changed it to 5 for the other half, which didn't help. anyway, excuses excuses....

going through those away results in more detail, i got at least 15 shots with about 8 on target average during those 6 games. the opposition got about 5 shots on target on average themselves unfortunately, though, which would usually require a great performance from my keeper to get a clean sheet.

seems that the home tactic does better with clean sheets so therefore scoring too many goals isn't a neccessity. but in away games if i can get my defence a bit tighter then results may be incredible.

Alright, tried it with my Everton team (4th Season) for 10 games, in brackets are the possesion and shots; i.e. (Shots by Everton compared to Shots by Opponent, Everton Possesion compared to Opponent Possesion)

1.Won 3-0 vs Kayserispor @ Home (22:3, 58%:42%) [Home Tactic] - Superb. Impressive!
2.Won 2-0 vs Fulham @ Home (9:7, 56%:44%) [Home Tactic] - Good. Possesive
3.Lost 0-1 vs Reading @ Away (9:4, 48%:52%) [Away Tactic] - Disappointing.
4.Won 1-0 vs Kayserispor @ Away (12:5, 57%:43%) [Away Tactic] - Average Performance
5.Lost 0-2 vs Arsenal @ Away (10:11, 49%:51%) [Away Tactic] - Poor
6.Drew 1-1 vs Wigan @ Away (10:6, 50%:50%) [Away Tactic] - Average Performance
7.Lost 0-1 vs Heerenveen @ Away (14:6, 47%:53%) [ Away Tactic] - Poor. Annoyed at Shots:Goals
8.Lost 0-1 vs 10-man Newcastle @ Away (11:6, 52%:48%) [Away Tactic] - Very Poor.
9.Won 3-0 vs Man Utd @ Home (20:9, 53%:47%) [Home Tactic] - Simply Awesome
10.Drew 0-0 vs Colchester @ Home (7:4, 54%:46%) [Home Tactic] - Ok. i felt we drew due to recent bad performance in the premiership that carried over

Overall: 3 Wins; 2 Draws; 4 Loss; 10 Goals; 6 Conceded
Home Form: 4 Games; 3 Wins; 1 Draws; 0 Loss; 8 Goals; 0 Conceded
Away Form: 6 Games; 1 Wins; 1 Draws; 4 Loss; 2 Goals; 6 Condceded

Conculsion:
The Home Tactic is absolutely Brilliant. and i mean it. Brilliant stuff. 4 home games, 3 wins, all of which convincingly, 1 draw (to colchester in premiership, i think we drew due to the fact that we lost ALL premiership AWAY games, which carried over and gave me a draw) and ALL the matches produced CLEAN SHEETS. absolutely brilliant!

However. here comes the bad thing... and im sorry Crazy Gra, but i didn't like the away tactic one bit. sometimes it gave me much more possesion, and maybe more shots... but the conversion rate was really really poor, and sank my everton team from 1st place to 8th with the away tactic... this was mainly due to the stupid 6 consecutive away fixtures.

i was and still am really impressed by the Home Tactic however, and i really Recommend it as the Best home tactic i have tried so far... best thing? don't even need to tweak a thing ! lol. however, i felt that all the goals scored from my strikers only came from the Right FC... (carlos vela in my case, my left FC was Sobis) im not sure if its due to Sobis just not playing well atm (goal drought) or due to the tactic, but it might not be too big a deal anyways

     for Home Tactic
Away tactic needs improvement for me

lol, back with a little update;

one game after i posted the previous post, sobis raked in a hat-trick... i guess he was having a goal drought after all lol

the game ended with a 6-0 beating up win against CSKA Sofia in the EURO Cup at Home...

Again, i wish to emphasise and thank Crazy Gra for the Brilliant and Awesome Home Tactic!

Cheers Mate!

Only one bad result with this so far and that was away to Arsenal in the FA Cup. Their winner was off-side and we had a goal disallowed with about three minutes to go. Since I've started using it I've seen an upsurge in David Villa's form as I'm using him off the target man of Alan Smith.

I'll keep going with this one. It seems very effective so far. Ta!
