hi Crazy

i have tried your away tactic with man utd and it was hit and miss, some good 2/3 nil wins then some big losses. i didnt try the home tactic as i'm very happy with my own.i'm into my 2nd season and its always my away form that kills me and a few others have the same problem

i didn't use the target man... i didnt notice it was ticked (lol) and presume using the tactics without any target man... to my amazement though.. the home tactic worked wonders - its halfway through the season now, and i have only drawn 2 home games, Lost None and won the remaining games. also, i only conceded one goal!!! also, i have scored a total of 29 games since my last post. pretty awesome to me.

maybe thats why the away tactic didnt work so well - i will try again with the away tactic... and see how it goes.
if you didn't have a target man set, then i'm guessing that one doesn't get used unless you have a player in the team who's in the list.

did you mean that you've played 29 games?

and that you've only conceded once during all those 29 games? even i can't believe my tactic is that good!

did you use the home tactic in all games i.e. in away games too? </BLOCKQUOTE>

i meant 29 goals lol, cant remember how many games.. but it was about 10, anyways, i gave up on the away tactic... didnt seem to work... and started to use the home tactic at Home, Away and Neutral games... and gave me quite a pleasant suprise

it works well in away games... although not as efficient as at Home (obviously), and has the same effect as playing at Home when i used it in Neutral Games (i won the FA, League and Euro Cup with the Home Tactic with Everton)

I conceded VERY few goals indeed, and i just wish to emphasise that this Home Tactic is the best tactic out of all which i have tested (with or without targetman - it didnt really have much effect, they still score alot)

Cheers again Crazy Gra
now... just need to sort out those away tactics.. :p

do you mean after i've done a few more tests and tweaked a few things? if so, then i reckon i might upload new tactics if i feel it's necessary. i won't get all the testing done by tonight, as i going to play a few more games to add another dimension to things, which should provide me with a better idea of how to play in away games.

atlantas: same reply to you in a way. cheers for letting me know how the home tactic went in away games.

download my home tactic and see how it performs for you in away games. you could just try your own home tactic in away games of course, but you've probably tried that already.

i used to think that you had to change a lot from the home tactic for when you played away, but this clearly isn't the case in FM07 as the home tactic is doing well in away games. the tests will hopefully give a good idea of where to change things though.

do you mean conded 5 against man utd i.e. lost 5-4? or do you mean you conceded 5 in all the 15 games?

Update on the 'Wet' Tactics

During doing these tests on the effect of the home tactic in away matches, i was playing a Champions League game away at Shaktar. I was using my normal home tactic, but notcied that the weather was 'sleet'. Most importantly, the grass was clearly wet so thought that I should change to the 'wet' tactic. I carried on in the first half with my normal home tactic, then switched to the 'wet' home tactic in the second half. Although it's only one match, these results were quite contrasting:

1st half
Goals: Shaktar - 1, Me - 1
Shots: 5, 4
Shots on target: 2, 1
Possession: 61%, 39%

2nd half
Goals: Shaktar - 0, Me - 3
Shots: 5, 14
Shots on target: 0, 8
Possession: 45%, 55%

There's obviously quite a difference there, so I'm going to continue using the wet tactic in games where the pitch is a lot wetter (darker green). Give it a go yourself if you want and let me know if there's much difference for you.

This Link is my proof that this tactic works for my Sunderland team.
What's more is that i've only used the home tactic, for both home and away games. What's even better is that i've only needed to tweak it on a couple of occasions.
Sunderland are 12 pts clear at the top of the Championship and 15 pts clear of promotion and it's only December! Cheers Crazy, this is a truly great tactic - just waiting for the re-ranking to kick in now...
