However, it must be said that with the tactic I do score quite a few goals. I am just giving up tons. I went up 3 nil to Spurs in 29 minutes and then ended that game tied. I think that it might be the keeper though. Didn't at the start of this thread you say you used Manchester United. Did you sell or replace any of Nevilles, Vidic, Rio, VDS, Heinze, or Evra?
i bought gordon, but didn't get him before he played in the champions league for hearts, so i was forced to play VDS in the CL games. both did very well anyway.

as for defenders, i only sold rio as chelsea pay £45m for him. main back 4 are neville, vidic, heinze, baines.

serpico hope what ruud3 said in the man utd thread was useful for you.

I imagine that you sold Rio for that price pre-patch. I cannot get anyone to take him post patch. I would love to get rid of him because I feel like he is completely ineffectual. I just started a new game since I resigned on my old one because of a poor finish. I went up 2-0 to Reading at their stadium using your tactic, but ended the game 2-2. It seems that the malady continues.

i didn't rate rio too much on FM06, but he's a little better on FM07 and considering how most players are worse, rio is a pretty decent defender. he only really lacks a bit of tackling and strength.

i'm still at odds to explain why you're letting in goals, i'd be annoyed at letting a 2-0 lead go away to chelsea let alone reading. keep looking at the goals you concede and see if there's still one way in which you're conceding more than others.

Think I need to try this for my Everton team. It’s the second game I’ve played as them, first one I got relegated/sacked at end of season 1, this one I’m doing marginally better but am still underachieving considering the players I’ve got.

I ‘gave’ them a cash injection and brought in good quality players like Curtis Davies, Leighton Baines, Luke Young, Joey Barton (although he’s an undisciplined oik), Kevin Davies, Gary O’Neil, Lee McCulloch, Chris Riggott, Jon Dahl Tomasson and Craig Gordon but I’m struggling in 15th place (beginning of April) and really should be doing better.

I’ve tried numerous formations, latest attempt with Lobolo’s, but have been terribly inconsistent, almost ready to give up so hopefully this will be the saviour.

those players should see you into the top 4 with everton no problem IMO. davies and mcculloch should be rotated in the target man role, and with johnson as the other ST he should get plenty of one on ones.

hope it works. just use the home tactic for all games for the time being.

Cheers Gra, I did think top 6 anyway, so will give it a go.

I've been using McCulloch as left mid, only other possible is McFadden, still reckon I should use McCulloch target man?

And Johnson - heaps of chances but only 11 goals from 23 games - seems to blow a lot - will this sort him out a bit?

Crazy this is a great basis for a tactic in english football.. I myself use two different tactics - Yours for playing against english teams (use the home wet tactic with major tweaks to the team instructions) producing great results for west ham (3rd or 4th place)in january

The downside to your tactic is that i cant get it to work outside of england. It was pretty bad infact

For any other countries i use lobolo's 1.1 tweaked tactic (team instructions again) and it worked perfectly in italy france and germany. The tweaks can be found on lobolo's tactic page.

The downside to this tactic is that its crap in england lol :thdn:
don't you mean it's crap outside of europe, as that's what you said in the rest of that post?

i've not played with a non-english team yet, but am planning to play games with valencia at least. will be interesting to see how they work. </BLOCKQUOTE>

What i meant to say it its excellent in england but not so good anywhere else (only tried it in italy germany spain and france

i reckon mcfadden would be better on the left. mcculoch has no pace so is well suited to target man role as he has good jumping and strength.

about johnson: villa misses lots of one on ones for me, so i reckon an increase in his mentality might help as then hopefully he'll just shoot when he gets into the box rather than trying to round the keeper, which usually fails.

Well, I've been desperate for a new tactical system after a long-long loosing streak with Leeds. I decided to try this one out as it seems to be working well for so many people. But, alas, my loosing streak continued and I resigned as manager, but my hope is up, I've been hired as manager for the German second division outfit Karlsruhe and I'm going to try this one out again. But do you know if this tactic only works well for the big clubs or does it do wonders for us who are up against it?
