Im currently set-up using a flat 442 after unsucessfully using the 442 diamond. The problem I have is:
1. I generally have a far lower percentage of headers won in each match. I read in an earlier thread to put my centre bacls on hard tackling and this helped a bit, but it cost a penalty.Ethe stats of 1 defender is 17 jumping and 18 heading and high bravey and workrate yet he still regularly outjumped in games
2. I have a TM that has all the typical TM stats, like strenght, jumping and heading yet he hardly wins a header. Could this be because his height is only 5'10, but a similar thing happened with the other one that is 6'0.
I don't tick TM but like to have th little, large combo.
1) How many headers a game are they attempting and winning on average?
2) Nope shouldn't be a height issue, if you look in my Sheff Utd project thread and look at some of the stats in the match reports of what my targetman gets for headers, you will see mine wins 90% of them at the very least every game. The settings for him can be found in that thread also.
I find it helps to win headers by having the targetman come deep and knock the ball on for someone else, rather than him staning uptop trying to win the ball and then holding it up. Maybe this is why I win more headerS?
i'd agree with the target man issue, bring him deeper...with the defenders, try using zonal marking and tick tight marking on your cb's...if your cb's have good heading ability this should give them more of a chance to get close and jump early...also, i personally see hard tackling as a no-no for exactly the reason you've suggested...try normal...you can also try to stop crosses getting into your forwards by reducing foward runs and run with ball on your fb's to stop them getting caught out while also reducing mentality and putting barrows to reduce the number of balls played in behind...have closing down on 1/2 notch of normal and an invaluable piece of info i learnt is to have your wingers on high cd but EASY tackling...seems strange i know, but stops them lunging into tackles and holds the wingers up limiting a good crossing position

works like a charm for me as well, got a borrow on my target-man down to AMC,drops down and flicks on for my pacey striker...and also gives more space to the pacey striker to exploit

1.at home to Parma, 41% to 67% heading percentage against. 1 CD was 4 out of 6 headers, the other 1 out of 5.
but the problem is strikers, 1 out of 10, and 1 out of 5 for TM.
2.so lower his mentality right? Should I take off fwd runs as mixed to rarely. I find if he jus holds ball with no running he's just fouled easily or injured/
Should I remove HUB as well?
ill check the settings in ur thread.thanks
