I could get no sleep.

I had to get back and test this out:

I have all my defenders on mentality 20, rest on 1.

Result was strange: No difference in position.

Now I am trying with right side of pitch 20, left side 1; this has no difference in formation as well.

I also move the mentality slider between 2 to 19 without any effect on the positions. When I set it to 1 I get the "Ultra Def" effect, and when set to 20 the fullback start to overlap and I get to "Gung ho" effect.

Let me add that I have turned all FWR on all players off. I am even able to score and dominate game with all these strange setups. I wonder if its because I have CF on 1?


This is strange...... And I am tired. 04.15 now, and I got work tomorrow.....* sigh*

Anyways, my conclusion is:

The mentality ONLY affect the aggressiveness on the pass; whether to make a "safe" one, or a "risky" one.

Let me add: right now I am up 2-0 with my Fisher against Hayes..... With my Right side of the pitch on Mentality 20, Left side with Mentality 1.... I dont even have any forward runs on ANY player. just a flat 442 , no arrows, CF 1 on ALL players.....

It's all THEORIES-someone has an idea, implements it on the pitch-if it works then they are quick to state that they have made a RULE.

And if it doesn't work...

i think i encountered what you're writing about while i was trying to make a libero SW position. no matter the setting i gave the player, he just woouldn't move beyond the DC line

I find this "Schizo" settings I made, utterly STUPID!

What it all boils down to it seems is the abilities of the players.... It shouldnt be like this.

There should be NO way for me to beat Hayes with these stupid settings I gave my team.... it was even away game.....

I think to be fair Cleon's Sheffield United project proves that it isn't all about the abilities of the players as he walked the Premiership with one of the weakest teams in the league.

I wish it was more about player abilities as this is more realistic IMO.

I cannot understand it. Mentality determines how often players attack. My mean that if a player on 20, he will begin to attack even when it's only 10% successful possibility. If a player on 1, he will begin to attack only when it's more than 90% successful possibility. Mentality doesn't affect on players' position.
