Low tempo, short passing 4-5-1 means that you clearly dominated possession, albeit, in your own half for most of the time. My assumption is that you got hit on the break.
Seeing that they scored 4 goals from 6 shots, it means that your defence wasn't all defensive after all, and since you might not have tight marked their players. they managed to pick holes and shoot.
What about your GK? Was he your first choice keeper?
Also, is Chesterfield in a league above or below you?
Few more things...but would be great if you can answer these first.
This loss is quite frustrating, I could only imagine. But this game relies a lot on making a 'perfectly even' tactic. Any loop-holes, and it will be exploited.
Hey thanks for the reply but, what do you mean suppose to lose? The media tipped me as 'Comfortable Favorites'...Oh and the skin is called Black Aura in case you want it for yourself
Thanks for the response. As for your questions...Your correct about marking their forwards, my defenders are rather slow so I usually use zonal marking for the center-backs but I tightly marked their wingers with my full-backs though. Yes, my GK was 1st choice, and Chesterfield are in the same division with me. Also I should mention, my striker is one of the best in the league, yet during the match I constantly saw him round the keeper then bash the ball in the side netting...any tips for that?

hehe...yes!
Just got my letter of recommendation in the mail today.... :p
But seriously, I was not justifying anything, was just trying to pin-point towards a problem, if there was any!
The only thing I can say is: Things can sometimes be explained without numbers. And like I said above, tactics for this game need to be 'too perfect' so that they don't fail. You can't get around with a simple bodge job anymore.

np mate. I was wondering, if its not too much to ask, could I somehow get the pkm for this game, because i must admit, that losing 4-1 at home with this much possession is rather spiteful. So I would really like to see what happened.
I see that you mention that you were marking their wingers with your fill-backs, this probably kept their crosses down. But tbh, if I am not mistaken, you were the one media favoured. And so, Chesterfield must have tried to play narrow against you.
But anyways, as for your striker, I am afraid I can't be of much help. I have never really read many of the 'guides' in-depth here. So I can't direct you towards a possible answer either. Plus, since you said you played a slow tempo game, it beats me as to why your striker did not take longer for many shots.
But like I said before, it would be great if you could email me your pkm for this match (and possibly for tactic if its not too much to ask!). And I will try and help, if something is indeed wrong.
Also take a look at tackles won and headers won stats. They are very low. 2 times out of 3 your players attempted headers unsuccesfully, same with tackles. Take a look who lost those headers / tackles. If the problem is on defense side, it could explain a lot.
Notice that even though you had more SOT's then them, you were always going toowith that many shots overall.
Firstly, who got most of your shots? If it was your CMs chances are it was from long range, so thats a bad thing first.
Secondly, I think it likely your biggest problem here was width. If you have loads of possession you should have gone more direct and most importantly wider. Who were favourites here? If you were heavy fave's you would need to go quite slow and very wide. If it was even you would need to go fairly direct ish and wide. Both of these examples you would attack. If they were faves you would play medium tempo and width for a start and go from there.
It seems you needed to stretch the opposition a lot more and your players may have been forced to shoot from long or in poor positions.
Note always that you lost by a long way in tackles and headers. What was your closing down? It should be high at home, and your defensive line should be fairly high too. Were they?
Fact is that you didn't deserve to win as much as you think, because it is 90% likely you would have if you did as the first reply said. Dominating possession doesn't mean dominating the game, and neither does shots (once again I point out that so many were off target). You did loose significantly regarding headers and tackles and crosses. This may be more significant than you think (particularly regarding team selection and closing down).
