Thread: Questions - Help Needed

Okay, there are a few things I have yet to understand in Football Manager.

First is the Player Interaction. Youth players have the option to learn from senior players. I've tried this many times but to no avail. It's either the players end up disliking each other (not very nice) or gain very little to nothing. Is there something I have to look out for when linking youth players with senior players because I know I'm doing something wrong.

The second are wonderkid. In the O7 game, I've had a few wonderkids but they don't usually turn out to be great players. How do I make them good players. Learning from senior players? Or something else?

I'm playing as AC Milan in the 08 game and I've got Alexandre Pato who is a wonderkid. Coach report says he would turn out to be a key player but seeing as I've not had much success with wonderkids in the previous game, I want to know what to do to make him a very good player.

And also, I'd like to know what are patches. I bought the game a few weeks ago but after reading a few posts on here. I've seen people talking about how tactics don't work with a patch and so on.

I guess that's all I've got for now. Any help, advice would be useful and very well appreciated.

Oh! I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but if it isn't I'm sorry. I'm kind of new to this forum and so not really sure where to post this.

The patch is a beta 8.0.1. patch that deals with issues of bugs in the game and is required to get rid of the closing down bug. It is available on the forum. After the season has been under way for a little while you will notice that certain youth players have a 'may do well learning from x player'. It may be worthwhile trying that - I think that your tutoring player needs decent determination to pass on his knowledge to the youth player. There are always some players that don't see eye to eye though and nothing will change that.

Almost forgot this. When I started at AC Milan, the clud was worth over 200mil, and suddenly, it went down to 60mil. I have not even bought any players nor sold any. Why is this? And will the patch be able to fix this?

This has been reported in the bugs forum, and is a well-known issue, which has been addressed and fixed, as far as I know
