I am looking for a DC for Real Madrid. I'm at the end of my 1st season and I need a replacement/back up for the ageing cannavaro

I was looking at Christoph Metzelder. He has pretty good defensive stats. But his value is pretty low and my scout only said that he would be a decent signing. Has anyone ever tried him before? Any advice on whether I should buy him? And are there any other DC's you can recommend that are not too costly pls?

Haven't tried Metzelder before so can't comment on him but look as Felipe, Garay or Mertesacker for alternatives.

metzelder is a solid player not the best but pretty good, go for felipe or zapata both from udinese.

if you want to go german mertesacker is way better

if you have enough money go for vidic, cris (lyon), kompany

Lucio from Bayern. Ageing a little, but easily good enough.

Micah Richards from Man City - not the greatest at first but Euro defender of the year for me in 2009/10. Probably pick him up for 15-25mil (euros). Big wage demands but am sure Real can afford it.
