I played Aston Villa with Billericay Town in a Division 1 match, and by the end Villa only had six players on the pitch. They had three red cards and then two injuries after they had used all of their subs, meaning they played the last 22 minutes with six men. I won 4-0.
If a team gets reduced to six men, the game is abandoned and the other team wins by default.

Actually, you only need to play 2/3 of a match, 60 minutes in the case of any professional match. So, if after 60 minutes a team is reduced to less than 7 players, the match is considered complete, just as it would be considered played if it were called off due to weather after that 60 minute mark.
This explanation brought to you by your friendly neighbourhood (well, okay, I don't live in any of your neighbourhoods) referee.

That doesn't seem right. So if an utter underdog happens to be up 1-0 at the 60th minute mark all they'd have to do to win the game is send 5 guys to the ref and insult him until they're sent off?

But would you really want 5 players missing for the next 2-3 matches?
But I suppose the ref might cotton on after sending off 4 and just let them finish the match with 7 players.

Similar thing happened with Sheffield United IRL a couple of years back, they only had 3 sent off, but a couple more were 'injured', after all the subs had been used, so the game got abandoned. And yes, they were losing. Can't remember if the game got replayed, but they certainly got in trouble for it.

I'm not a qualified Ref, but i'm related to a couple, and have had conversations......
anyway, enough of my sad (ahem) life and back to CM.
As far as I have been told, the game can be abandoned after 60mins and it counts as a result and if it is before 60mins it has to be replayed. However if one side is reduced to less than 7 players through sending offs the game is forfited to the opposition automatically regardless of time as a punishment to the 'dirty side'
The same rule applies to teams who can't field 11 players. If you can't get a squad together (I once played for an under 14's team on a rainy afternoon and we only had 7 turn-up)you have to field at least 7 players to fulfil the fixture. If you cannot, the game is forfited to the opposition (unless they agree to replay)obviously if one of your 7 gets sent off or is injured, you forfit the game.
What I would like to know though, is what exactly happens if through injuries you get reduced to below 7?
Would the second the 5th injured player has to be treated off the field mean an instant end to the game?
