One of many good Belgian updates around here, but I'm still none the wiser to how the league structure works.

I'll give you a tip, as long as you don't tell. Just keep playing as long as they give you games. If you win them all, you'll get promoted (Ssshhhhh!!!)

BiB's a mod over on the Paradox Board, so he doesn't have too much time I imagine. I like him, even though we play EU in very different ways.
Anyway, good to see Geel's picked up a classy player. Good to see you have a shot at promotion as well. Here's hoping that a semi-pro squad can go giant slaying come season's end.

At last : an explanation ofthe belgian playoff/promotion system.
Div 2 playoff system: there are 3 periods in a season : 1 of 10 matches and 2 of 12 matches.A winner of one of these periods is automatically placed for the playoff. But if for example the champion(who goes to the next div) wins all the periods ,the 2nd-3th-4th-5th at the end of the season are placedfor the playoff.another example: if the 13th in the ranking wins a period, and the champion the other 2 periods, the 2nd-3th-4th and the 13th are placed for the playoff.

Div 2/3 relegation/promotion playoff system: The 16th of div 2 and the 6 winners of the periods in div 3 A en B (3 periods of 10 matches-but the same system as in div 2 ) participate in a playoff where the 6 div 3 teams play against each other(season standings don't influence the playoff(like in Italy))in the first round.3 div 3 teams remain + the one div 2 team .
the winner of this 4 team playoff goes to the next div.
if something is not clear say so and i'll try to explain,or if you have more questions about belgian football.
Cheers guys
by the way KUTGW

To mr pyroflatulator: never had a team that ended 16th and earned a playoff spot in the first period.this is nearly impossible because you need more than 20 points to win the first period.
But i'll give it a try...

Come on Dirk, you at least have to "try" to stay in the 1st.
(This coming from the guy who honked off his board so bad that he could win domestic cup competitions and watch his board's opinion of him go DOWN).
