Default Bloody Receivers!

My game has been ruined by them! And this isn't going to be another of those "they sold my best player for £5k" threads. Quite the opposite!

I started my game with Woking, and managed to keep improving the team each season with the odd free transfer and then youth players i'd picked up coming through the ranks. I missed out in the playoff final in my 4th season, then managed to win the conference in my 5th. The main problem i had at this stage was that i'd late my wage bill get out of hand, so during the promotion season the receivers were called in. I managed to trim the wage bill, and we were getting close to breaking even with the higher gates in the higher division.

Then during the first season in the third division, while we were doing really well again, in an automatic promotion spot, i decided to offer round some of the youngsters i had picked up who were probably not going to make it. 4 or 5 players in their early 20's, all offered either for free or £5k. I managed to get offers for them all, which the receivers decided to negotiate.

Now, i don't know where these guys trained, but with negotiation skills like these, they should be able to sort out Ireland and the middle east in about 20 minutes. They got some third division club to buy one of my crap youngsters (value ~£16k) for £1.9 BILLION. Do you think this might be a bug?

Incidentally, it's lucky i did get the cash, because one of the players i sold, they decided to do a straight swap for a 33yr old forward who wouldn't get into my reserves. I wouldn't have minded, but my highest wage before he arrived was £2k, they paid him £16k

My game is ruined. I can't carry on like this, obviously, and even moving to another club will still have Woking with more cash than Microsoft, and i wanted to see how good my best youngsters could get anyway. I have a save from before this happened, but i think it ruins the game if you replay for any reason, and i'm sure a similar thing will just happen again, if not with the money then with exchanging for players i don't want on wages i can't afford.

I was going to wait for Xmas for 03/04, as i didn't want to restart, but i guess i might be getting it sooner than i think. Not before it's been out a few weeks though, so we can see if this is sorted.

1,9 Billion is a nice sum...I wonder if they offered to pay it with momthly installments over the next 500 years.

btw, I'm sorry for you that your game is ruined. That definitely sucks. :thdn:

What Ollie and Ian said. Bad luck Mark. I only hope that 03/04 is less buggy on its release than CM4, and you get a decent game going. But I think I'll stick with my 01/02 for a little while longer yet and see what the verdict is with the new game amongst fellow llamas.

I have the feeling that the demo of CM03/04 had much less major bugs than the same demo of CM4 - with that in mind and the experience of prior versions of CM, I'm definitely going to buy it. Too bad I'll have to order it in UK though since I won't touch the translated version offered in Germany.

If the receivership issues arent sorted properly for 03/04, i think it could be the biggest problem there is, LLM wise. There are so many reports of managers trying to offload players from the wage bill, only for the receivers to step in and get three players in part exchange. The bug i had must be such a rare one you can put it down to bad luck to even find it, but not being able to reduce your wage bill makes receivership virtually impossible to get out of.

I know LLM wasn't perfect in CM4, but it was close enough that i was really enjoying the game. It's quite ironic that i wasn't getting 03/04 straight away 'cos i was enjoying my current game too much, and now i won't get it until there's been an EP or 2, as i dont want to have to keep restarting my game.

btw, I just wondered about that Div3 club who paid those 1,9 Billion. I guess they went into receivership now too
Maybe one should go there in order to have the biggest LLM challenge ever? Monthly interest payments should equal to several millions, I guess.

Or, to even things out, couldn't you try and buy one of there really rubbish players for 1.9 billion. That way, it gets rid of all your money and removes their debt. I bit of a cheat I know, but if you are enjoying your game that much, it may be worth while.

hopefully the other team has a really low "percentage made available" for transfer income, or else they're going to spend all of it again.
