Hey all,

Ever since Margate gained promotion to the dizzying heights of the conference for cm0102 I have been playing LLM, managing Margate. I don't normally post here... I'm usually found lurking around the editors hideout looking for facepacks and backgrounds to enhance my lower league playing experience.

The one thing I've found is there are virtually ZERO facepacks and suchlike for anything other than teams in the prem or 1st div.

(note, if anybody doesn't know what a facepack is it's a bunch of pictures, that, when put in the right place, display a players photo when you look at his profile screen.)

After months and months of waiting for someone to cater for us LLaMas I have grasped the concept that nobody cares about face-packs for the teams like Accrington Stanley, Margate and Forrest green.

Upon this shocking revelation, I decided to go out and make my own Margate face-pack. With 14 or so players done, all looking nice with transparency and id numbers I was most satisfied with my work, but in doing so I concluded that the rest of the LLaMa's out there deserved equal satisfaction. If you want a facepack for a conf or 3rd div team, let me know here and maybe I'll get around to creating it for you. (if demand is high enough)

Note, Facepacks will be created for cm03/04.

Now I'm not by nature a "f*ck about with CM" kinda bloke, but I realise some bods actually get some enjoyment out of Club Crests, Grounds and the odd piccy of some young guy's coupon in their game, so I'll let this run.

After all, Nobby did it with grounds.

I think it's quite interesting to change the look of CM. As long as the spawn doesn't get a mention.

I would be interested in a Gravesend & Northfleet one.

Yeah, I was sum lovin clut, until Smiley Dan worked out what the name meant and kindly asked me to change it as this is a family forum

I generally don't mess about with CM too much... but since the inclusion of facepacks in EP3 or whatever it was I really liked the idea of actually seeing your players, only there were only ever Prem facepacks, so I never really got to see the benefit of them in one of my games.

A facepack is just a bunch of pictures. When you put them in the right place on your computer CM shows the pictures in the game.

for example, My team, Margate. When I click on my star DC, ********, (whoops got very close to player naming then) I see his photo up in the top right hand corner of the screen.

It kinda makes you feel closer to your players. When you're screaming at the 2d pitch in a "WHAT THE $^"$ ARE YOU DOING???" manner, it's like you're actualy shouting at a person instead of a little circle with a number in it!

What happens when your game progresses to 2034?

Do you get random faces? This seems to be of limited appeal as players come and go, retire, get regenerated etc.

Ground pics are fine, as they change infrequently, but I don't really get this one.

No, unfortunantly when your game progresses that far you get no faces... but for the photos of the youngsters, they'll have a good 12 odd years of life within the game.... and let's face it... if you're playing properly 12 seasons take a fudge of a long time to play!!

You never know, you could be 8 years into your game, buy some 27 year old and he comes plastic wrapped with his very own photo!!!

Its not just that, Mkus, what if you want to manage (as most of us do from time to time) an overseas team? Seems like a lot of effort to me. But hey, what do I know...?

Nice(ish) add-on. Won't change my life.

As pointed out by my lentil loving friend, with all the island hopping and career gaming that goes on here it will surely be of limited appeal.

That's not to say that no-one here would want it, but I can see why it appeals more to the people that take control of Man U repeatedly for 4 or 5 seasons at a time.

Ahhhhh, I thought you were talking about a club badge on the screen and the background pictures. I'm not too keen on having the players mug shot on the screen. Someone will want it though, no doubt.
