My problem is whenever I start a career game, I get way too attached to my players and club. My CM4 game, started with Margate, and 10 seasons later, I was still with them even though I had tons of offers for the manager position at other teams.
For me it wasn't too big of a deal either... looking at Man utd or the dirty Gooners players on the screen didn't mean all that much because they'd never play any part in my career, but when it was my own players... or my potential transfers... that did make a difference. You do get much more attached to your players.

If we are honest. Perhaps the majority of CM players play in the top divisions. It will surely come natural for those creating the face packs to create them for the top clubs.
Also it will be pretty hard to find all the faces of Forest Green for example compared to all the faces at Man ure.
I tried face packs, but decided it slowed my game down and decided to scrap them. Still have the Logos though and my Non-league logo pack i created.

I have no issue with llamas changing how their game looks, after all, it's still going to play the same as everyone else's who has the same version, it's just that it would be altered slightly to suit that person's visual taste.
Like Jaffa pointed out, I did it with stadium pictures on 01/02. I stopped at around 800 as the folder was getting to a ridiculous size, hadn't even got round to finishing off Serie A/B and La Liga either. http://www.geocities.com/nobby_mcdonald/cmpics
if anybody still wants to download any sets.

Play the game as SI programmed it. That is, install the CM Game, apply the latest official SI Patch, Choose a Team and play the game. That means do NOT use editors or third party updates (i.e. Updates on squads, competitions, etc, made up by persons other than SI).

In my opinion, a "facepack" is a third party update. It doesn't matter whether it is "for the good" of all LLaMas. It's still third party. We don't name players because we want to make a difference between black and white, avoiding the huge gray area of who is allowed and who isn't. I think, the same should be with those third party patches. Imagine, there'd be some guys out there, who start to create a so called great update pack to update all the LLM rosters. We all would still say no.
As for the pictures - what about creating an archive or a zip of face pictures of certain teams and putting them somewhere for download? People could still enjoy seeing those faces when they wish to, and it would be absolutely fair, without changing the game as it is.

It doesn't affect the gameplay data, though, which is why iaj's allowed it to ride. It's only the same as skins, really.

Last time I checked (a couple of years ago) Forest Green had pictures of most of their players on their web site. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the clubs do that sort of thing.

But I'd suspect on many club sites the pictures will tend to be quite small.

That was just an example team that came to mind. Generally speaking though, it is a lot easier to get Faces for higher rep clubs than it is the lower ones.

Guys,
Sorry for 6000 different versions of this post (well, 3 or 4)... I didn't realise tey had problems here over the weekend and on monday, so when my post didn't go through I just hit the back button, proof read the message again, changing spellings and submitted again. sorry.
Anyway, Most of the clubs do have photos of their players on their websites, and believe it or not, they are more than big enough. I have to shrink them down normally because the space for a player pic in CM is pretty small.
Either way, I've done Margate, and I think it does add a little to the game, to actually be able to see your players. I'm thinking about doing the other teams in the conf just for my own enjoyment in the game, so if anybody wants their team, I'll be happy to pass them along if I've done them.
