I think what Iaj said originally was about right. I usually find it takes 3-4 seasons to win the Conference, always seem to go up from the 3rd first time, then a couple for the others, usually three for Div.1. Certainly never made it all the way up in less than 7 seasons, and no more than 12.

1st to EPL is hardest IMHO, unless you get to take over a big club that has just been relegated.
Still size of stadia etc is the cruncher for me usually, some clubs are just not meant to be there I suppose.

I've played in Germany a lot and generally don't stay long in the 2nd division. 3 straight promotion spots, pffft.
My next real game in 03/04 will be in Sweden because I've heard such marvellous tales about being stuck in the lower leagues forever due to the extremely cruel competition where not even finishing first guarantees promotion but only secures a playoff spot. :thup:

With the German observation I actually meant it was easy enough to get into the Bundesliga 1., but the problems arose when you got there. Huge number of very good teams.
