i have a similar problem to senor walker here... i love the IDEA of LLM - it seems to me to be the way CM ought to be played (if you're looking for realism)

however, that's in theory. when i try to start up one of these games, i rarely get all that far...

it's not that i don't like losing or don't have patience, it's that i can't quite summon up the same enthusiasm when managing Lickspittle Utd (or whatever ) that comes so easily when i'm in control of my beloved Toffees...

losing with Tamworth etc never really causes the same pain as conceding a last minute goal against liverpool in the cup, nor does winning give the same enjoyment as when Radz runs up the other end and puts one in their net..

i'm sure that if i could actually get a decent length game going, so that i knew all the players etc, then i'd find it really enjoyable... it's just trying to get over those early hurdles...

ah well.. one day...

I tend to play outside the UK to start any game and use that as my goal.

Jobbing your way round the world is great. Turning up in a counrty you know little about, knowing noting about the plyers in your team and having no idea who will be playing lower league football for the upper divisions for me is a real challange.

Finding out who your local rivals are winning a few games, loosing a few it's all great.

in my current save I miss promotion in russia by 1 point, gutted. The next season they expected me to get promoted, half way through the season I was in 9th after a bad run and got sacked.

It was then exciting to wonder who would give me a job. went on holiday and applied for jobs three weeks later I was employed by a team in the chinese league, and this was a little step closer to my goal.

For me lower leage managment isn't just about winning and loosing it about an experience, about learing and about trying to work my way around the countires I run with whatever sucess I can get

Sorry if that sounds like compleate sh*te but at least I'm not jonny Yak!!

With a program like that, maybe I could play automatically while even not being at home. Oh wait, there's the holiday option.

Scouserman, no player naming.

I think that if the bloke makes up this "programm" himself than he can go for it. There has always been managers that have used technology to thier advantage.

Christ sports psychologists, dieticians and staying off the booze were all "cutting edge", and some coach must have introduced them.

Surely if the LLaMa invents the database after years of careful programming then it is entirely within the spirit of the LLM DIY gamestyle to utilise it.

Then again, perhaps not. I can't see that kind of compu-pick being used IRL... though Walter Smith could prolly have done with it

I was actually working on a tool like that for 0102, never finished it though

You wont find a LLaMa who says it isn't.

I don't think it is.

If I think that the total value of the player stats I can see is a good indicator of a players ability (I don't by the way) then I will use that information. Similarly, subsets of those stats indicating an aptitude (possibly) for a certain position.

If I have trouble in adding them up and have to use my fingers does that make it cheating?

Wonkey, you have a programme that tells you who to pick, it's third party and it's not realistic, ergo, it's cheating and not for here.

Skonto. If you can't see why it's cheating then perhaps this isn't the place for you either.

I f*ckin' despair sometimes. The Spirit and Ethics of LLM are so easy to understand and play by but still we get inundated by those non-LLM plurks

CLOSED.
