Do the lower leagues allocate squad numbers before the season proper? They don't at present, but as I've never played there, I don't know if it is a bug or a feature.

depends on which lower leagues, Taipan. In Austria, even the lowest league gives you the option to allocate squad numbers.

Not really. If it adds to the enjoyment for you then :thup:. IMO I don't believe that giving a player that coveted no. 9 shirt makes him score more goals.

IRL it does...look at all those strikers who by chance had the number 9 - forwards with number 2 rarely scored. :fakeproof:

I never liked squad numbers. A centre half's number 5, a centre forward's number 9, I'd like to crack Johan Cruyff in the gob. He started it all with his number 14 shÃ*te
