I imagine myself as a journeyman D/DMC, 3rd Division standard, a Scot with a hard face and a heart of gold, who will stick up for his players through thick and thin, but kick their arses in private for a poor performance.
Yeah pretty much the same, 35 year old, lower division pro, never achieved much. I keep track of my age throughout the game too. I vary my nationality by game, depending on where I'm starting out.
The difference between us and Johnny Yakuza is that Johnny would enact the 15 year playing career before allowing himself to start the game
A kid who was crap at football but half-decent at goalkeeping. Spends time working in the real world. Studies martial arts, learns physical awareness and trains in posture training to improve the body's ability to cope with stresses without relying too much on muscle.
Actually, I imagine myself as a renowned marksman who switched from Kettering Town to Chelmsford in October 2002, and duly netted on his debut in a 2-0 win at Welling, thus building the foundation to end the campaign as City’s leading scorer with 19 goals from 33 games. My other former clubs include Sheffield United, Grimsby Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United, Grantham Town, Rushden & Diamonds, Gloucester City and Cheltenham Town, as well as being capped at non-League level by England.
This completely imaginary person then retired from football and landed a job at a conference side.
I've got to say I never thought of it, my prehistory. but seeing as i work in a school, I fancy this one.
worked in school since graduating, coached school football teams, won local and national school-boy comps. Broke the mould by taking a girls side to the school-boy cup quarter finals. Undertook all the relavent FIFA coaching qualifications
Then started to coach youth sides out -side of school taking one u19 side to the semis of the youth FA cup. married a Russian lassie and moved to St Petersberg, where a combination of my ability and my wifes good lying landed me a job on the coaching staff.
It's amazing how the word youth can be lost in translation when talking about the youth FA cup
Usually I don't think much about my manager's background, but whenever I start a new game, I create a manager with a random name fitting the nation I'm playing in, with the corresponding nationality.
