That's quite an achievement btw :thup:

I managed consecutive promotions & am now in div 2 with Woking but there squad is a lot better than that of Margates

Now you wouldn't necessarily break every rule. Give your players pseudonyms based upon amusing descriptions. Refer to every tactic as "the one where they sometimes attack and sometimes defend". Mention your matches without giving away the score.
And then post it in CMS, where it would be rather confusing, because you can't post updates here.

Ive also just started my first ever LLM.

I always used to be leicester or a mid table prem team but i decided to try a LL team (Halifax) again (the first time i tried it i couldnt be bothered to look at all the unknown players and quit after a few games)

been promoted up to the second division now, you're right, its so much more satisfying getting a conference team up than winning the prem.

Its also great when you can actually see your new star signing really making a difference against lesser opponents rather than just blending in like in the top teams.
