hi there.

i've started a game off with barnet in the confrence. into my fifth season and i've got them up to the 2nd division. i've never bought a player for cash. i've gotten by with plenty of loaned players and free transfers. usually free transfers of players that i had on loan!

we've got a nice little squad, but it is very little. about 25 players at the whole club. we're struggling a bit in div2 (15th,16,17 ish). i can't help but feel our two promotions in the conf and div3 were due to the lads absolutely playing out of their skin, and now we're being found out a bit. either that or the conf/div3 jump isn't that bigger leap.

anyhow, the reason for my rambling, is this. i don't think i can take the club any further. we have a 4200 stadium with an average attend of 4000. not enough for div2. i operate on about 15-50k in profit on the club's balance. no transfer funds. the board wont invest in a youth acadamy or stadium expansion. they've not got the cash. there is no way i can play myself into 1/2 million pounds. it can't be done at this level, with this sqaud. i can't improve the players as i don't have the wage structure.

what can i do? i'm loving the game but i don't think i can actually take the bee's any further? anyone been in the same boat?

sorry when i said 1/2 million i meant 1 to 2 million as in hard cash to develop the club on the stadium/youth front

i don't want to resign/apply for diff job/start new game/get relgated/get sacked. for reasons too obvious to type.

try and improve the clubs finances? yeah that was the question, got any ideas?

Oh yeah, how often to Second Division teams get that far?!

If you can get hold of an exotic player (Iceland, Japan, Hawaii, the arctic) you will make a lot of money through merchendice revenue. It sounds a bit daft but it works.

Which is not very realistic for a lower league side is it?

My scout found several hawaiians whilst mooching around the tropical areas of South Yorkshire.
