Im in the same boat in my Tamworth game. After just surviving relegation in the first season we had two succesive promotions and are now completley out of our depth.

Had several cup runs and have nearly £2m in the bank but the board are still limiting my wages to &6k a week and its impossible to sign half way decent players.

What your transfer budget?

Around 400k which is what is frustrating, I have plenty of money I could use to go and buy players but sod all to actually pay there wages, so its pointless having the money availabke to spend.

I would just forget about the budget and overspend as much as I can while I have money in the bank but they are limiting my max wage to around £700 p/w atm :thdn:

Renato, I'm meaning it as the fact that it's only a generic request, as for all the board knows you want to bring in four players at 50,000. In my opinion, I think a board would be more likely to give you a little bit of extra money if you're targeting a "star" as opposed to just wanting a bit more freedom to target one of many possibilities.

I have a feeling that the board assumes you just want more money to bring in more players.

I've seen instances where the board only raise my total wage budget by 1k after they agreed to my request. Saying that, you should be able to tell that it serves no purpose or help at all.

It becomes infuriating when transfer funds of up to 6 figure sums, but the club is readily limited by a wage budget in the 4-figure sums. After coming up through the ranks from the Conference all the way to the Div 1, we could constantly get stuck on the drawback that we could not offer tantalising contracts and therefore sign only rubbish players.

Strangely, we would seldom see this problem arising from those clubs who start out with a healthy financial ship. They could go on forever surviving, unlike many LL teams who had to chop and change to stay at the neutral point (bank totals not going into the red).

It's a feature I would hope to see implemented. Being able to negotiate shifting of funds would be able to save a whole lot of our poor arses.

I agree. This would additionally be especially useful if you were some mid-level 1st division club and wanted to bring in a big name player. Lets say you're controlling Southhampton and are missing 3 million to sign "a player". (cm4)
not that i've ever coached southampton, nor have i ever bought "a player".

Or you could ask for money to bring in the top scorer of some foreign league

I'll say this in a friendly way.

No player naming ever. Period.

Have a good festive season

It was an honest mistake, I forgot where i was for a moment, and i accept my warning.

However that comment about giving me "a long leash" is unnecessary. What am I? your dog?

While maybe i enjoyed winding up the fellow posters a bit too much, It was not my intention to cause offense. I'm sorry that you took it this way and I will now stop.

Best wishes.
R.
