I like many of you out there cannot wait until patch 8.02 is released, however I have a few questions and hopefully some can be clarified.

It is currently 15/01/08 and it has been guessed that the patch will come out when the current transfer window has closed, so saying that will it be released on the 1st of Feb or are we then looking at say the 14-15th of Feb?

Will the patch be saved game compatible or will we be better off starting a new game?

I ask these questions because atm I have a really interesting save game, however I don’t want to keep playing it and then find out that all the fixes will not work because we need to start a new game. On the flip side I don’t want to have to wait another 1 month until the new fix comes out. If it is going to be released say by 2-3rd Feb then I am happy not to play FM for the next 2 weeks and wait. Reason being is I don’t want to get into the game, then find out I need to start a new one.. J

So basically to re-cap:

*Any idea on release date?
*Will it be saved game compatible?

Hi,

The patch is likely to be released sometime between the middle of February and the beginning of March - SI will announce as soon as they're ready - check the stickies at the top of the forum.

The patches are always save game compatible, however SI usually recommend you start a new game to take advantage of all the new features and amendments. However, those of us on interesting saves should have no problems continuing those saves even after we've patched (though expect some changes to your game...).

Seriously I have great hopes for this patch and hope it addresses a lot in the game. Lost a bit of faith in it just now I must emit, not because its to hard or to easy just it does not feel right just now….its like an invisible force pulling your team back…..part of the old appeal was you put the time in you got the reward early CM games had this in abundance and I’d even say 06 had it….but its ebbed away I feel.
