I know there are a number of issues with the game, but I am currently playing with an unpatched version, just as it came on cd.

Is this version just as good as any? as I know issues have been raised but not really solved in any patches released yet. Also the patches brought out seem to hace created more problems and issues than they have solved.

Which version do people think is currently the best? If I install it now will it work with my saved games, or will i have to start again for features to take effect?

A frustrating feature is the board messages, drawing a game as a big club may not be great, but for the board still to be going on about it a month later when you've won all the next 5 games, beating the champions of europe 6-0.............

Also, they don't seem to take into account games in hand, or for example Leeds points deduction etc.

My Leeds board were unhppy all season, claiming my start had been poor and they expected more. This was despite winning my first 25 games in the league..... I often had 4 or 5 games in hand, meaning i was lower, but common sense would show that obviously when the games in hand were played i would move up. The board don't take this into account whatsoever.

Also, you buy a good young player on the cheap, and he does fairly well, but the fans and board are unhappy. They compare each player as the same. If i buy a 17 year old for 20k and he develops ok, averaging 6's and 7's it is not the same as spending 15million on Nick Anelja and him getting 6's and 7's.

This is not taken into account. There is a message about not having paid much for a player, but this isn't enough. The AI needs improving on this.

Finally the player exchange and enquiry screen when others bid for your players does not work at all.

For example, Juventus could enquire about Steven Gerrard and I say I want 1million, when he's worth 25m. They won't bid the acceptable value I declared, no matter how low or stupid the price. I suspect I could offer him to them for nothing, and offer to throw in Torres and Carra for good measure and they would still not be following up there interest.

And when trying to excgange players, in a straight swap or part of a deal. Say I am after a good young player, such as Mark Noble, and offer a straight swap for Torres...

They reject it. Simiarly if I want a player valued at 5 million, and offer 10m and a player of mine valued at 10m it gets rejected

However, if i just offer a straight 10m and no player they accept it.

I think this may need to be looked at, have any of thes issues i have mentioned been solved, or partly solved in any patch available to download now?

Also, when will the new patch, which will address many of the bugs and issues people have mentioned on these forums due out? I heard late January, what patch number will this be?

Havig checked out the forum I hink i am playing version 8.0 with 8.01 the only patch released so far.

Patch 8.02 is due for release end of january I read.

8.0.2 is more likely to be released middle of February - beginning of March tbh. :thup:

Regarding transfers, I think the patch is unlikely to address this, as its primarily about resolving known issues not adding new data.

What you want for transfers player data etc is an update, which I think is slightly different than a patch (although sometimes a patch does incorporate an update)
