It's season 2010/11 and I'm playing as Gateshead in the BS North.Whilst waiting for the Play-Off final on the Sunday,I noted that Liverpool played Valencia in the CL Final on the previous Wednesday and won 2-0.I happened to check and found that the Final was played in front of 11,999 people at,of all places,Dundalk, in the Republic of Ireland - is this credible?

This bug has been mentioned on numerous occassions. Hopefully SI are looking to get it fixed on 8.02 as the CL final is often played in tiny stadia, although I've noticed it in the last few versions of FM so I not holding my breath TBH.

To host a UEFA Cup final or a Champions League final, a stadium must have a 5 star rating. So yeah, that was a litte random yes :thdn:

Stadiums arnt marked as 5-star stadia in the database so a more realistic way of doing it would be where city attraction is larger or equal to 15
and seating capacity is greater than 50,000.

Hopefully the 8.02 patch will fix this and the world cup hosts bug

I think the capacity MUST be over 60000, and hold a 5-star rating from UEFA.

I think that Wiki entry needs updated, I'm sure both The Emirates & Wembley have a 5 star rating.

As for the 60,000 capacity I not sure that requirement applies, particulary as Hampden Park has fairly recently hosted the CL final.

The Emirates and Wembley aren't 5 star YET. They are pending approval.

I think Wembley is more likely to get it first.

emirates stadium is on the shortlist to host a uefa cup final from 2011 and wembley is on the shortlist for the champions league final from 2011 is that helps confirm things

I think a small problem with The Emirates is the name. UEFA isn't that keen on coporate sponsorship of stadium names and usually renames them for European matches.

There are three 5-star stadiums with coporate naming (all in Germany), but I'd expect that they won't be referred as such when they host cup finals. Schalke's ground for example, was named Arena Auf Schalke.

Am I right in thinking that all the German stadiums with corporate names had their names altered for the 2006 World Cup finals?
