Post game rant ? F*** the Champions League then...
A good game yeah I suppose, but a great one?
Ok finishing 8th (just) in the League with Man City in my first year after Sven got sacked for a 17th placed finish. Next up I buy Utaka and Mensah for a total of 20mil, not to mention selling Richards, Elano and Corluka year before. We finish 2nd !? Amazing. However I don't buy and more players for the first team, a cople who go as subs that's it and I sell none.
Next thing I know, it's February of my 3rd season as manager we've eased through the Champ league group, dpne well in the Carling cup, yet are down in 6th in the prem, well off the pace. We've played so poorly in the league, and it's just boring. The problem is the players get tired too easily. I know the year before it was one game a week, but finishing 2nd was too much to be considered in any wqay realistic, considering 17th and 8th placed finishes prior. Then this next year of poop? The players tire out way too easily despite my whole team having stamina levels ranging between 17 and 20. It's ridiculous, a feature Si should take priority in fixing.

I said this in another thread today, but it bears repeating:
Stamina impacts how much a player's Condition drops during a match
Natural Fitness impacts how quickly he regains Condition between matches
I have a guy with 3 for Natural Fitness, and he has trouble playing one match a week - asking him to play two would be murder!
I do find that, for a club which has serious aspirations in all Cups, that I want three capable players at each outfield position: a star-quality player for the biggest League and Champions League matches, a solid player to rotate with him, and a competent back-up whom I can trust in case of injury to one of the first two.
Then I usually have some promising youth at each position, who play those Cup ties against lower-league opposition and can cover in case of injury crisis. Often I loan them out, but I make sure to include a recall clause.

My players end up on like 72 % despite having like 18 stamina, yet... there in crutches after the game. By the next match, well.. The NF is not too different from the stamina for these same players. Yet my point is in Europe, oh yeah they're on fire but at home to Sunderland , lets not even get a shot on target...rubbish

There's probably a bit of a motivation thing going on there, too - your best players probably care a lot more about the Champions League than about some run-of-the-mill league game. Whereas your rotational guys care about any chance they get to impress you..
Also, different team talks may be required (if you do start the first choice) to ensure that they don't take the match off..
