I mean whatever option it is that forces the game to play out all of the matches in that competition, whether you're managing in that league or no. On older versions, it was the "Extra Detail" checkmark, I don't remember what it is on this version.

I do find there's a one to two hour period when starting at a new club (whether new save or moving between clubs in an existing save) that is a bit boring, it makes it tough to "get into" a game, and sometimes I just give up on that new save .. I've no ideas what to do about it other than "power through it".

I suppose you could try something like using the notes function:
1. Set reminder "Sort out scouting" for 1 month down the line
2. Set reminder "Sort out training" for 2 months down the line

And just start playing right away .. trusting yourself to do the adjustments once you're "into" the save a bit ..
