Jimmy Briand wasn't in France Squad when I took over Roma but he forced his way into my first eleven, scoring 37 and 39 goals in successive seasons. He won the France Player of the Year as well as the European Striker of the Year. Yet he still didn't get called up for the World Cup squad even though he has the best stats of all their strikers. What's wrong? (Too old? He's 28...)

What does a player have to do to get a call up? Post #2
I am wondering about this a bit as well, wondering if he has something to do with players big match playing ability. I have a MC regen who has won the player of the year in the premiership for 3 out of 4 seasons, and yet no call up by the USA. had 21 U 21 caps, but still no first team caps. The two major flaws he has is isn't great in big matches and is very controversial.

Yeah..it's always the case with jimmy briand..In one of my saved games, he plays for my Paris St Germain team,..Knocking in goals for fun, well established continentally, still no call up to the french squad..and in that saved game he's approaching 30 years old...Well, i think there should be a thread on best players in the game never been capped..
