I'm glad I feel like a complete div having had to release an update and two fixes already, and then getting the installation instructions in the update wrong. Thank God everything's fixed now (fingers crossed)!!

If you'll take over my PES5 patch and give me a couple of quid I'd be delighted

got the first pack you did and its really good, put the update on and fix last night now none of the pictures are showing up sometimes the background is just a black screen

pretty sure i've installed everything the way it says on the readme.

Most probably to do with the mistake I made in the readme... :o

Try installing the update again, not to the directory indicated in the readme, but to your Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006\data\graphics\pictures\backgrounds\england directory instead. Any individual pictures (NOT FOLDERS!!) in your Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006\data\graphics\pictures folder you could then delete (not essential but would save a few megs of hard drive space).

If that doesn't work (and deleting the files in your cache directory doesn't work) then I've no idea.

cheers for replying mate, tried what you said and still nothing its probably me who's done something wrong it usually is

is there a way i can start from scratch again i.e. deleting them all and reinstalling your pack again?

Best thing to do is probably to delete your Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006\data\graphics\pictures\backgrounds\england directory (and any other directories in "backgrounds" that you know are from my packs), as well as any picture or "config.xml" file in the root of the "backgrounds" folder).

("Root" meaning files specifically in the "backgrounds" folder, NOT within any folders inside the folder, if you see what I mean...!!)

That should uninstall everything (as long as you delete the "cache" directory to complete this uninstallation). Then you're ready for a reinstall!

The following problem keeps recurring: I delete everything in the "data/cache" directory according to instructions, but each time I start up FM, the folder "English" pops up again in the emptied directory. I've deleted it several times and have even emptied the recycle bin to be sure to get rid of it, but it doesn't work. This folder contains a DAT file called "metallic2006_right", and I guess its mysterious recurring is why I can't get your background pack to work, as I've carefully followed up all instructions.

I know I'm a bit of a computer illiterate, so I might be overlooking sth plainly obvious here... But have you got any clue as to what's happening?
