Although I've always enjoyed using various skins that have been available for CM4, CM03/04, FM2005 & FM2006 I've never fully appreciated the effort that goes in to making one. For the last two nights I've been trying to make a skin (my rather basic effort can be found at http://www.stonewalldutch.freeola.com/) and I have to say it only makes me appreciate the work of all those give up many hours for nothing to give us great looking skins.
My skin has only a few alterations and I dread to think how many hours goes into creating a skin where many elements are changed. Keep up the good work guys.

When I got into skinning I never wuite realised how long it takes, it's very fiddley at times but worth it in the end.
I agree Ricey. You find yourself becoming obsessive over the tiniest details and mistakes. I've learnt one thing though, never mess about with graphics in the small hours of the morning. I ended up making so many little mistakes.
Thats the way most people start I suspect. Messing with the graphics and being frustrated most of the time. It does start to make sense the more you do though.
Hopefully you'll stick with it, gain experience and come out with the excellent skin designs.
Pim I've put a link to the skin on that page now. Hopefully there's no problems with it. I couldn't include the background pic from the screenshots because it came from http://www.vladstudio.com/home/ it's called I love summer and can be downloaded from there.
radestock I'm hoping to have another go and be a bit more adventurous. I can see it being a long time before I get to grips with the XML side of things though.
