Default How do I use the game editor?
If you mean the in-game editor, you should just need to go to:
CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006 and click on the FM Data Editor icon. Once it starts go to 'file' and select 'load database' and then from the pop-up box choose sever_db

Otherwise you could use an external editor like FM Modifier. Download that, and with a new game running load FMM and search for Aberdeen and change their finances - that would only effect that game as opposed to the database.

Giving anyone £2B is not reccomended as it is the higher threshold of funds. When you earn money it will go "up" to -£2B.

so put it at £1.5B...

plus why do you want to have £2B anyway?

Click load.
Edit what you want (pretty self explanatory).
Save the database.
Start new game.

or wouldnt it just be easier to use edt files? then
you dont have to worry about backing up the database

when I go to server_db, it says read-only.

how do i get into the database?

PS im using a MAC if that makes any difference - i'm also a compete luddite when it comes to technology

With windows you have to right click the server_db and uncheck the read-only box. No idea how that translates to a MAC though.
