Ok just finished my champioship season with Oldham and finished as champions, i'd been bust in the transfer market though, changing a poor squad into one that could do well in the championship and beyond, one thing that strikes me with the tactic is even your most average winger can get high ratings, take this i signed a guy called Jonatan Berg which his stats were i'd say championship quality on a free transfer last season, and within a year he sold to Villa for 4 million
I was also getting offers of 1.5million for my left winger Petasz, but i kept trying to bump them up to 2.5million but no joy, it gave me massive scope in the transfer market in January but my main problem was not just finding players, it was trying to sign them as my club repetation must be really poor, as in the January transfer window i'd been in the top 3 all year i was trying to get players who could cut in in the premier i struggled to even get loan players, in desperation alot of times to attract them i was paying silly wages for a club of my size and giving silly bonuses, dread to think what would of happened if i didn't get promoted.
My defence was again fairly solid, but not as solid as last season, but i hadn't improved my defence that much, and my Goalkeeper is still league 1 standard. It was a fairly tough league though with teams such as Birmingham, Fulham, and Bolton in there, and i think other then maybe a goalkeeper, defender and a striker i will keep the same team for the premie league season and see how they get on.
Here are the screnshots:

Hello mate,
Thanks for the tips. I tweaked a little as i like a 3 1 3 1 2 formation and with this i had to chnge my passing style but with the basis of what you said and my own touch, i have gone on a 13 game winning streak and top of the prem!
Thanks

Nice one is your defence tight or is it that you just score lots of goals?

The 3 at the back dont over commit and the GK, is claiming more as he is coming out and chellenging! The DMC, is also become a lot more effective and winning the ball.
The tight 3 man midfield are scoring, with the 2 AMC on the outside, are both on free roles, its proving hard to beat me!

Sounds like the DMC is the integral part of the formation!
I've just been offered the England job, so this will be the stern test of my tactic, as i can only work with a certain set of players, just hope Crouch can play the big target man role aswell as i hope |

Hmm, i dont play with a target man but with the strong one, holding up that ball but with direct passing i need that, the ball gets up top quick!
good luck mate.

I've had mixed results with the tactic. I'm currently running a couple of games. I used this with Manchester United, even after buying an out and out target man with Iaquinta, I still couldn't score. Don't know what the problem is, so I put it on hold and picked up my other game.
My other game is a Chicago Fire season in the MLS. Its wierd I know, but being an American from Chicago I feel the need to support my local club. In any case, my Target man, Nate Jaqua (17 heading, 20 strength, 20 jumping, 191cm), is banging them in and is the current top scorer in the league. He has bagged 2 hat tricks already this season, and my quick striker, Wilberto Cosme (20 finishing, 18 composure, and about 16/17 pace) is bagging about half as many. I've scored the most goals at around 20 or 30 and only have conceded 5. I've never conceded more than 1 a game.
I enjoy this tactic, it provides a lot of flexibility. However, I fear that soon Jaqua is going to be itching for european football. He's already been capped for the US for the first time. I'm in the market for another American or South American target man.
BTW i'm not even halfway through the season. I thought I'd update, because this tactic is working great for me. The one thing i recommend is to grab a few good wingers. I had pretty average wingers so I sent my scouts looking for wingers with good crossing/dribbling/technique etc. both of my wingers have the most dribbles/game in the league. Jaqua is the lead scorer and leading average rated player at around 8.09.
I'm not sure about the middle of the park. I have Armas who is a great defensive midfielder. However the other side is somewhat of a mystery. I have Jeyson Joel Vega 20 passing/dribbling, Thiago (more average allround AMC), and Jesse Marsh (another DM). They all perform pretty average for me. Vega seems to do the best, he creates more chances, but his finishing and heading are absolute rubbish. They all get into the box a lot because of that long arrow, but they rarely score, Thiago takes long shots and creates corners, Vega shanks everything wide or high, and Marsh tends not to get the ball as much.
Any suggestions on the attacking midfielder's position.

For my Latics game i had David Dunn last year in that position who chipped in with 11 goals and didn't play every match, also a player called Sindre Loe Bing can play that position aswell as pretty much every other position in the game, so i would say he's a good buy.
Strange that Iaquinta didn't do well for you as in my Newcastle game he rocked with this tactic, but you could try a player called Roger ho does well in that position, and a guy called Caricollo or some thing like that, scores plenty, but if you have the money then the best player in the game IMO for that role is Ibrahimovic.
Good luck with your game.

This tactic really is a killer. 2nd season premiership, and I have won the League Cup (beat Man Utd 3-1 in the final (and 3-1 second time around, as I had to go out and forgot to save it!!), and am also top of the premier league by 11 points with a game in hand, and 5 games to go.
Also does well in Europe - I am in the Euro Cup, and in the quarter final so far.
Lost in 6th round FA Cup to Liverpool, but with a depleted squad, so not too fussed.
I have made some changes, like you said above, against poor teams, the space isn't there at the back - now both wingers have forward arrows, and full backs are on forward runs = often.
I do leak some goals with these settings, but the attacking power covers this well.
All players in first team and rotation are averaging at least 7 rating, with best at 8.15 agter 40 games.
Really top tactic.
