Yes you can do Kingstone, what your best of doing is any striker that is capable of playing FRC that you have in your team, just set them as a target man, then who ever you play in that position will automatically be selected if your playing more then 1 players who have been selected as possible target men in a game make sure u play the one at the top of the list in the FRC position that will automatically select him as the target man.

Have to say this tactic seems to be as close as your going to get to a super tactic/cheat mode....its been awesome for me...I tried it with my spurs team in 3rd season had finished 2nd yera before so we are a good side,but I never played any wide men and all players I had bought were for in the middle..but I am storming the league after 15 games although it does seem to have difficulty dealing with teams playing 4-5-1 e.g Bolton,Chelsea...also using it in my online game with friends..I am Arsenal and have now won 11 league games in a row...including my rivals Chelsea and doing Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield

I took this tactic up after a bad start with my Arsenal team in 2010/11. I first used it against Tottenham in this screenshot which was a 0-0 draw. Overall this t actic seems to work well, but not awesome for me. I think thats because my players are more running players and i dont have a target man, I was playing mainly Henry & Owen as my front pairing. I found that i got a fair few red cards with this as well which was annoying.
This tactic took me to the Qtr Finals of the Champions League, Lost the Carling Cup Final & The FA Cup Final (although on penalties) and finished second in the league, so overall it was a disapointing season but i didnt have the world's best squad.
Im using it for this comming season and i'll post back screenshots and things that i note. I didnt change any part of this tactic. Do you think pointon27 that this tactic would be able to change slightly to accomodate 2 faster more agile strikers rather than a target man or not?

If you was to use the tactic without the target man, i would possibly try playing the ball to run on to, in the target man instructions rather then to head, as your strikers aint going to win to much in the air, also make sure u adjust the defending corner routine, as i have my big striker back man marking a tall player, the last thing you'd want is Owen marking someone like Crouch :eek:

Failing that buy a big target man.

I just started my Championship season with Oldham, i'll post screenies later, but after signing about 10 players, and having a couple of injuries to key players, i lost 3 games 1 in the cup 2 in the league and lost all the games 1-0 on the spin, even though i was outplaying the opposition, my strikers just wern't scoring, i kept faith in my tactic and either just kept sympathising oy saying i'm pleased with the performance, until we got out that tricky patch.

I'm currently 2nd in the league 1 point behind Preston with a game in hand after 15 games, and still only conceeded 7 goals.

I believe due to the amout on new signings, it was like trying to implement a new tactic to my team, therefore wasn't as effective as i wanted, but now there starting to settle down, and play like they should, so anyone out there having trouble just try and percevere with it, keep a settled back 4, as it takes time for players to adjust to a tactic.

Ok i finished my first season in my online game with me taking on Ipswich using the tactic and it was again very effective for an average squad.

Did quite well especially when you consider i lost my first game of the season and i lost 2 games in my first 8, but only lost 3 games all season.

I also played Chelsea 3 times this season once in the league cup and twice in the FA cup without conceeding a goal to them.

Once again the tactic worked well attacking as well as defending as you can see from the league table, but i was dissapointed at the amount of goals conceeded compared to my Oldham game, but i suppose thats what happens when you face better strikers.

@pointon - Sorry I've taken ages to reply.

I can honestly say that whatever the combination (fast + big man or fast + all round etc) both strikers appear to score as much as the other. I've played with two fast strikers and it still works. I also find it works pretty well if you play an all-round 'forward' in the withdrawn striker slot, not necessarily a big man but a good link-up player.

And to continue on my story, after guiding Stirling Albion to the Division 3 title, I then went on to finish 3rd (playoffs) in the Second Division for two seasons running. It doesn't sound great, but in the first of those seasons I was up against ridiculously talented Raith and St Johnstone sides, and then Dundee United and Airdrie in the next. These teams had were grossly overblessed in terms of quality players and I was given a total of £10,000 to spend in the entire 2 and a half seasons I spent at Albion. It just wasn't possible to beat them, so the tactic did as well as it could under the circumstances.

I then moved to Carlisle, spent about 500k on players, and despite being tipped for mid-table obscurity I won the League 2 title by 8 points. Now on season 2010-2011 with them and am unbeaten in 4 games in League 1. Should also point out that at the tail end of the title winning season, I went 21 games unbeaten in the league, so the total run is now 25. Other notable achievements include a 4-0 thrashing of Championship Preston in the LDV Vans Trophy whilst I was in League 2.

This tactic is class, no doubts about it. I've been using it for near 4 seasons now, and it's shown no signs of letting up. It's been constant overachievement :thup: :cool:
