Am I right in thinking you have to set the target men which is under the view tab?
Used this tactic as Spain against Finland and got beat 2-0.
Team was
Reina
Irola Marchena Puyol Lopez
Joaquin Alonso Xavi Silva
Torres/Morientes Reyes.
Would the defeat be down to the fact I didn't select a target man under the view tab?

Are there any good training schedules that work well with this tactic? I need to create one for the Xbox 360 version!

Fingers crossed

Yes you need to use the view tab to select your target men, just make sure who ever is at the top of this selected list playes in the FRC role, as for spain losing to finland, you didn't go into to much detail i.e were you unlucky or did you get outplayed using the tactic.
I'm currently England Manager and i have to make slight adjustments here and there as it's usually a cup tournament and one loss can mean your out, what i have discovered is:
If your getting outplayed chances are you'll notice the opposition ful backs dont get forward, the tactic struggles against this, Chelsea and Bolton i have noticed dont usually push there full backs forward. The way to get around this i have found in my latest game overcoming both these sides after struggling earlier on in the match is to take of through balls for your full backs, switch to direct passing, slow down tempo, and increase closing down for the forwards.
That is why the tactic can alot of times perform better against the better teams then the weaker ones due to the fast counters, hopefully though if you try out those new things you should carry on dominating.
As for making your own training regimes, when i have done in the past i made one for Goalkeepers, one for defenders, then midfielders and finally forwards. I then try to make it overall just below intensive so in normal, but i.e for defenders have defensive training on intensive, also for them focus on set pieces and strength. Fowards try to have attacking on intensive and so on. just experiment but it's fairly easy to make ones that still work better then the default without to much trouble.

point27,why does the metality of the dl differ from the metality of the other defender?
The second question is what changes i should make when facing the team that is using short farrows?

the different mentallity on the dl is a mistake feel free to leave it as it is or change but the back 4 should all be the same mentallity
And as for teams with forward arrows, or any other formation for that matter i make no changes untill at least 10+ mins so i get a feel for how the game pans out, the only thing i loof for when the game has started is when the opposition attack do there full backs get forward, as i want that space when i launch my through balls, if they dont i take of the through balls, as there pointless, put the full backs on forward runs and run with ball often, and switch team to direct passing, slow tempo, that usually does enough to turn the game in my favour.

Use leeds for 34 league game,it works out great(beat aresenal with 10men in league cup quarter final).
The problem is the team always conceded goals on away games, what should I do about it?
The MC which foward (eirik bakke, have good heading and finishing)is my top scorer.

Not to sure, i always had an excellent defensive record and usually conceeded a goal every other game or less, but my first season in the premier i'm conceeding a goal a game as i'm playing better opposition it's understandable, if you take the lead try to slow down tempo and play more narrow and see if that helps, also if you find the opposition are getting on top put your striker's on max closing down for a while, it then makes the defenders do hurried clearances allowing you to win the ball back quicker, the only reason i dont have it on all the time is i dont want them to tired.

Ok this is for kjk1ll3r, i've started a new game and had a look at Fulham, first i'll take you through what i thought are the weak parts of the team that need improving, the Central defence needs strengthining, Knight is quite good, but you need more strength in depth full stop.
You also need 1 or wingers again for stength in depth but also to improve the supply your strikers get, and last of all your strikers, as before for strength in depth but i fell there quite weak and Mcbride maybe could get away with being the target man but i'd want someone a bit bigger for that position.
Here's a screenshot at the start of the game with what would be my best XI
I used Radzinski as the other striker because of his pace, also Diop is an excellent Def midfielder and although he wants to leave you wont find many better in the game for that position using this tactic. The fullbacks are ok but like before it's more strength in depth, i made afew signings and alot still dont make the starting XI but in a year or so should be, but there good back up players and should do ok.
The mistake i made was i bought a couple of players for the target man role, and as i was coming to end of the transfer window i panicked buyed, and so far the players i bought in for that position haven't done aswell as i'd hoped.
Here or my transfers that i made:

Sorry pressed the wrong button
Out of those Karaca, Loe Bing, Pareja, Vitti, and Sorensson are back up players and players for the future.
I bought Jiayi, and Halford to play as the FRC target man role, it's still early so they might improve and there both still young.
Transfers out were:
All these players i let go i felt even though they may of fit into the tactic the money to buy more players was more useful.
Here's my starting XI after the transfer window
So far i've currently only played 7 games, and at the start found it tough as teams morale was low and they are all miserable bas****s so it took a while to improve it, but i'm undefeated so far, but as yet the only top team i played was Man Utd which i got a 1-1 draw.
Here's the current league table: |
