Kjelltr's cautious tactic (for those who don't like tweaking all the time)
Kjelltr's tactic
This is a continuation of a tactic I used in earlier editions of the game that I am happy with. The AI seems to have problems adapting to this, but it is not an Über-tactic. Somehow it backfires a few times in the season with big losses, but so far the results in two different games (work and home) are:
West Ham game 1: 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st and leading the 10/11 season.
Brentford game 1: Took over Brentford (my feeder) with a second manager in january 2009 when they were 13th in league one. Finished 3rd, but failed to beat Hull in play-offs. 2nd in Legue One in October 2010 when I took an offer from Bristol Rovers. A 6 game winning streak so far seems good.
West Ham game 2: Won the first and second season, and finished 3rd the third season after having two of my first team players available for the last match because of a fatal game mentioned here.
The tactic is a slow 442, with defensive mentality, low creativity and direct passing.
I tend to vary passing on the strikers to short and defenders occasionally to long.
In games against better opponents I sometimes set the team sliders to attacking, tempo fast and defensive line to deep. Mostly I keep it the same though.
Try it if you want, and tip me of improvements if you find them.

Tried ur tactic with Celta Vigo after i had tried almost all the tactics on this forum without any consistant results.
So far i have had sucsess with it, went on a 6 match unbeaten record(won 1-0 away against Real Madrid :thup but i lost some matches too because of red cards, the tactic is very solid defensly and actually very good offensivly once ur team get used to the system, i made some tweaks on the strikers setting one on high mentality(about 16-17 men) and the other one on normal mentality. I also set the wingers on normal mentality and at home i adjust it to more attaking dependin who i meet.
Thats about all i have done.

Have I to choose a target man? If yes, which one of the strikers and which model should it be?

I tried this with Stalybridge in the ECN and it was working just ok but then I changed the Creative Freedom down to about 2 or 3 clicks and we have moved straigh up the table into the playoffs winning games easily.
I have still had the odd hiccup.
I think the defence can be improved but I don't want to spoil the tactic.
I have tried barrows on the full backs.
