It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Individual player orders vs. team orders

I'm little lost can anyone help?

I'm giving exact orders/tactic to my individual players example mentalities, passing instructions etc. I do not usually adjust individual settings during or even between the matches. Instead I adjust general team mentality, tempo and add tick to counter-attack if I'm choosing defensive style to play.

My question is if I have given individual player tactic do players follow team instructions or individual instructions?

For my opinion, they will follow the players' instruction.

As instructions are ticked, they will follow. When the instructions are unticked, u'll see that it's in (Team) instruction.

That's how I believe it is too. But I believe someone said in another thread that it's not that simple. Player instruction is followed for that position but even then team instruction have effect. I'm confused even more.

Does anyone know more about it?

If I give all my players own instruction should I keep team instruction to normal or adjust overall it to attack. Or does it really make any effect after that?

To my knowledge individual instructuions will over-ride team instructions but if you make major changes to the team slider, this will have some effect on each players instructions.

Foe example if you have a player with an attacking mentality setting of say 16, but you pull the team mentality slider back from 10 to 3 to go defensive, the attacker will still have an attacking menatlity but not to the same extent. His mentality will not drop back by the same amount as the team one but will drop a little.

This is only an opinion based on reading many threads about this.

I think the global setting is the style the team plays.

I agree with FrazT but have found the change doesn't have to be as major as he suggests if your player mentalities are quite close together. Otherwise you will need great changes in team mentality, but this would probably prove counter productive.
