Right, i'm in need of quite a bit of help here. Also to make it clear, i have read most of the sticky threads and i can't put anything decent together. I thought maybe some one-on-one coaching might help more .
I'm Man Utd and can't get a decent run of results together.
Reslly what i'm asking is a bit of guidance of what changes i could make in my current tactics, to see a bit a bit of improvement. I know i could download someone elses tactics, but i'd rather change my tactics this way, than just take someone elses.
I'll post my current tactics and players:
Keepers:
I rotate both my keepers, if 1 plays *****, the othere goes in :p.
I hoped for quite a free flowing tactic, like how Utd play IRL really. I wanted my FB's to run up and help with the attacking side, but it seems that they don't get back in time to help defend, so iv'e tried to get them to stay back a bit more. I wanted most of the play to go through Scholes and iv'e told Huntelaar to hold the ball up, to wait for my wingers and over striker to run forward.
I'm not really getting results however i play, and my FM patience is running down quickly. I don't think i can take another result likethis .

Cleon has got it in one, I think- the mentalities of your team are too far apart. Try implementing the Rule of Two which means that any player in your team should have a player to pass to whose mentality is within 2 points of his own. If you look at the mentality slider and assume that far left is 1 and far right is 20 then as an example the team should be set up like this:
This should ensure that you keep possesion better, dont hit uneccessary long balls because there is no-one to pass to and can be adjusted for home and away versions of your tactics- lower starting figures away and +1 or 2 for each at home.
Hope this helps.

I would agree with both of you, though I prefer a rule-of-roughly-one-and-a-half, particularly if you want a sexy short passing game. FrazT has it spot on if you want to play a more direct passing style, however.
You can then play more attacking or more defensive by using the team instructions. I've found closer mentalities require less tweaking, but they also result in a less creative team. Depends what you want to do, of course.

Cheers. I'll have a go using FranzT's 1st, as i'm Utd and they should be able to pass well enough. If that doesn't work i'll have a go with Millie's direct passing game.

My system's more for a short passing game.

Yup the gaps a big issue, but you're formation seems a little odd too.
Scholes is a fantastic AMC - yet everytime you're teams in possession he's playing as a striker, personally I think this is a waste, lose his arrow (run with ball etc will still have him pushing forward regardless).
Also dropping carrick back to DC everytime u lose posession seems mad, surely when u lose possession u want him to play that holding role and protect you're back 4, not drop right back....lose his arrow too!

Cheers for the advice.
I was thinking of taking the farrow away from Scholes, as i wanted him to be holding the ball up more and waiting for Ronaldo, Giggs and Rooney to get forward.
I wasn't sure about Carrick, but i'll definitely lose the barrow now.
