When tutoring my younger players on FM, about 50% of them end up in falling outs between the players because of a clash of personality. I had a quick skim here and there seems to be no topic about this. So I thought I'd start an investigation of sorts.

Whenever you get the results back from the tutoring, post them here. Post the media message, followed by the personalities of the two players. If they fall out put them under negative, and if the tutoring goes well put them under positive. I don't want any answers put in because they may be obvious - anything entered needs evidence to back it up.

It'll be interesting to see the compatabilities that come out, and if there are two of the same combinations but you get different results (so a success rate can be provided).

Hi, how do u set up tutoring. as i can't figure out how to do it

Go into the player's profile that you want to be tutored. Then go into Player Interaction. At the bottom of this is a small drop-down (well, to be precise up) menu with the players eligble to tutor him. It only shows one player unless you click on it. Then, once you have the right tutor, just click on one of the three options stating that so-and-so can learn a lot from this player.

Greg Beckett - It is not that it isn't an interesting question, but I doubt you'll have much luck with the method.

First of all you assume that it is down to the personality desrciption whatever the tutoring will be succesfull or not. Is it really? Remember that the desciption is nothing but a reflection of some of the Visible/Hidden mental attributes.

2nd You assume that it is down to both players personality description. I think they both play a part, but not the same part.

My own theory is that Controversy is the main thing. High controversy and the risk that the tutoring will fail rise, and also that the failed tutoring will lead to dislike. But controversy - and it is not the only attribute that play a part - can not be read out of the players personality description in most cases.
